Can we get into the gates after 6pm on Saturday???

HI, we are messed up!!!
My party, 3 men and 2 girls from NY, heads toward the Burning Man, indeed.
However, we never knew the following statement about the gates :cry:

Q. Are the gates to the event open 24 hours?
A. Yes. However, the gates will be closed to incoming traffic after 6 p.m. on Saturday, September 4th, prior to the burn of the Man.

We've got the air tickets that arriving time is on Sep. 4th afternoon
at Las Vegas. Therefor, we might be in the Playa after 6pm on saturday.
It' s already so difficult fur us to change the flight schedule and our terms of vacations.
Ain't we able to get into the Burning Man after 6pm ???
Or do we have to sell our all tickets with giving up the Burning Man???

You're flying into VEGAS on Saturday afternoon and hope to make it to BM? Is that a typo? Do you enjoy going to really expensive parties after they're nearly over?

If you can't get in at least a day earlier, preferably 5 days earlier, I'd sell the tickets and try to arrange more time off next year.

Sorry, but I'm kind of doubting that this is a serious inquiry. But just to humor you and say you really wanted to do such a thing, let's look at how it will impact the event.

The burning of the Stick Man is just one of many events at BRC. However it is the biggie. Do you think a bunch of people want to sit at the Gate taking tickets and selling tickets instead of being able to watch the Burn? The Gate is closed down to a skeleton crew for the Burn so that Rangers and people who do both Gate and Ranger can be at the main event to help keep it safe and so that they can enjoy it also.

No this is not an invite to come crash the Gate. There will be people there with radios and in contact with the cops, so that trespassers do not enter.

I didn't work Saturday last year, so I don't recall what time the Gates closed. But no, this is not a typo. Look under FAQ on the main site.

As I rememeber it they did - although I believe it was staffed.

We'll reget the air tickets for 1 or 2 days earlier, and then enjoy BM!
