radio frequencies

Post by bianco » Sat Aug 21, 2004 10:18 am

Hi and hoop

i've picked up one of those little radios non-official people have at BM and being in europe i'm wondering if it's gonna work on z playa or if there'll be some tedious standards difference. Now the little thing has 8 channels 4.66.00625MHz- 466.9375MHz. Am i on the same wavelength?? Please tell me i am! :?:

ok i got some more info...

just to confuse me it seems the radios i bought list their frequencies as 466MHz but this is a mistake and they are in fact 446Mhz (PMR)- there is a big PMR on the front of the box, so at least that part is right!

from what i've just read PMR (446MHz) is the standard in europe and on the other side of the atlantic FRS (466MHz) is what people use...
i find this stuff mindmumbingly dull but at least i think i've worked out that my suspicions were correct- it was all too easy, and what was i thinking buying something in europe that i thought would work in the USA! the radios will have to go back to the shop...

now if youre reading this and have a radio could you confirm that playa gossip is on the FRS frequency?
