can anyone recommend any website ... that would summarize all the US and Global events for the past week or month?
I can't stay on top of current events - but a summary would be very good...
Thank you...

Get a twitter account and start following all the reporters or publications you trust for news, then check your feed when you have time. If you have an iPad use Flipboard for rending your feed.

Then I realized that the Lord doesn't work that way so I stole one and asked Him to forgive me

Re: source for a weekly news summary?
Which spin do you want? How much of the world do you want to include in your version of "global"? (not snark questions, btw)
I have yet to find a single news source to get all my needs. I like the BBC for Europe and some global, as well as a European perspective on the US; Al Jazeera English for the Middle East, northern Africa & a good "other" perspective on the US; NHK World English for Japan & Asia; for domestic news I hop around a lot: New York Times, LA Times, and the Washington Post (I prefer traditional print media for US news)
If you want to keep your knowledge balanced look at all the news sources, not just the ones that fit your preconceived notions. You might not agree with them, but you'll know what the "other side" is thinking, and maybe have a little better understanding for their reasons.
