I am always in two minds about this, it being in the context that it is, I am not offended. However, as I travel to Europe a lot I have to constantly remind myself that using the word Nazi is a no-no.

We typed up an invite for a show in Berlin earlier this year and used an original 1940s portable Olympia model typewriter, made for Heinrich Himmler's SS. We Used the special 'SS' character on these typewriters everywhere a 's' appeared, of course we were reminded by the organisers that we could get a jail sentence for this in Berlin, so we just had to use normal S's.

Why should be czar less bad than nazi? I am sure many Russians would say it was the same or worst...

You know, I met (and worked with) people who survived concentration camps, whose families were executed by nazis, I work on project with this thematic....and this jokes never offended me...I joke about that, maybe because I know the history and I know what happened and know to what all of that lead...and where it leads even now...

I think people joke about important things...if it was not important why would someone bother to even mention it.
