Ok, now. We all have had our hands slapped a couple of times. And we all have had to turn the other cheek, and have that slapped
as well. Take it with a grain of salt, followed with a shot.
We are one big red headed step child family. We get it. And I'm sure I've been plonked by a couple of people. But quite frankly
I don't give a ........
Anyway,
I lurked for a long time before jumping in. And I had to learn, too. But I'm still here. And I enjoy every minute of it. Sometimes
thats what we have to do.

If somebody doesn't want what they send in a PM to be published, they should probably think twice about sending the PM in the first place.

As for the moderators, let's cut them some slack, they still have their training wheels on! And to the new moderators, please remember you are riding with training wheels and maybe try to err on the side of not moderating quite so much. Maybe have your little conference on a thread before pulling or quarantining it. I mean, what harm could it do by waiting a bit longer to see how things play out rather than trying to predict and preempt. if the isn't written in Russian and the poster has a few posts under their belt, and nobody's life is being threatened, chances are..oh well, you know where I'm going with this.

I totally agree that if you're sending anything by internet you should be damn sure you stand 100% by what you said in case it gets out. That doesn't mean posting something akin to an email, something that has "private" in its title for a reason, is kosher. But maybe that's just my opinion.

My take on it is that this was sent as part of official moderator duty, and that makes it quotable in public. If we had a mod who was stalking someone on eplaya, I wouldn't think that there was anything untoward in posting it publicly. (Even though I'd say it was a matter that should be brought up with actiongirl or another person in the hierarchy of the event, and I wouldn't be surprised if another mode pulled it.) So, I think that there are clearly times to publicly air mod posts. Of course, that's an abuse of power, and not directly applicable here because I am comfortable with Trilo's pulling that thread--I see it as making a clear line that keeps really nasty spam from coming on. I"m also okay with tattoogoddess' being upset. I hope that she comes back and feels comfortable here.
Also, she wasn't here in August and September when we were drowning in spam. She may not have the experience to fear them.

PS I Am NOT a bad burner. I just solved the "stolen" green bike mystery over on 7 and D that is in another part of the forum. Did it in 2 days with out even being on the playa!

Round trips to BM. $1200 this includes one biz class round trip from anywhere, one meal a day,tent,crabs and playa penis are free as our way of saying thank you for booking with us!.
