call for help from all you dj's.

Post by mavlove » Sun Aug 22, 2004 4:04 am

hi. I wanted to say hello and thanks for coming and spinning whatever style you will be spinning

this is my first time and I have heard that a great thing about burning man is that if you need something and ask for it, people will come forward and try to help you out.

so...can anyone out there help me with some lovely old nyc punk music? play a couple hours blondie, dead boys, ramones, heartbreakers, dolls.

what could be a better compliment to the temple of heaven than THE CRATES OF HELL (think of all the bands richard hell has founded and then been kicked out of!)

brit stuff, west coast stuff is welcome too. stuff like nina hagen, fuzzbox, suburban lawns, joy division, tears for fears.

thanks. to all who can aid me. I can barter dance and appreciation and maybe bodywork (I'm studying tui na, thai and shiatsu)?

can anyone help me out?

I'm unfortunately not a dj, but I'd love to be around for this little dance party if you get it going. A person can only take so much techno...

Check out Thunderdome, they often play industrial and punk. I'm sure you can find the rockin stuff on the playa, keep your ears to the ground and your feet on your pedals.

Good luck

hey...concerning my desire for a punk rock party...do you know what formats people bring their music up on? I would tend to guess that the playa eats vinyl, but I think we should all bring up cd's and such and just find a soundsystem and take over.

We'll be rocking out at "Pit Stop" Friday night, 1

Post by Gags » Fri Aug 27, 2004 11:03 pm

You may want to swing by PIT STOP Friday night, brought to you by the Pit Crew, before you tear out for the night! Think Led Zep and Stones and other shit you'd hear at a garage. We'll be holding our little pit stop party at Comfort and Joy, 7:30 and Mercury from 10pm-1am--we're calling it the C&J garage, with tune ups and lube jobs and a total refreshening for all your parts (our motto: we're here to spritz the pits!"), including some rock and roll , beer and other treats.
Come on by. Vrooooooom!

I have so much Punk, Goth & Rock stuff with me as well as a mixer, basic decks and a laptop with state of the art DJ software...

I'll be looking to use it!
