My dog Shadow is back from the vet. She had surgery yesterday. The three fatty tumors are removed, the drain remaining will be removed next thursday, the stiches will be removed in two weeks. I will give her a pain med and antibiotics untill they run out. She is resting well and eating well.

The largest tumor was about the size and shape of a breast implant. It was located under her left front armpit/chest area. It started small but grew rapidly, it affected her walking and gait so I had it removed. My dog is 11 years and 8 months old. The Vet said these types of fatty tumors are common in older dogs. "There should be no more trouble now..."

Financially, I'm in great shape. I get $830.00 a month on SSI. Shadow's initial vet visit and bloodwork was about $150.00. The surgery, meds and boarding were just under $700.00. I feel it is well worth the cost to help my friend of 11 years. She can walk freely now and is not in any pain.

The real emotion was Wednesday, when I visited the Vet. Another customer had just lost her cat, her friend, of 12 years. We all cried with her, the staff and customers... Fuck.

PS. Vet techs and old medics have ghoulish humor sometimes; I was told that a customer brought in a tumor attached to a rat last week. Everyone broke up laughing. I guess you had to be there.

Fuck part 2

Shadow got her meds at 6 am, and I went back to bed. At 9, I awoke and saw that she had worried the stiches out of her smaller two wounds. After trying steri-strips and bandaids, I failed. Calling the pet hospital in Yuba City got her an appointment ( my local vets close on Sunday.)

It's been 3 hours now, and I'm expecting a call back. This time the plan is to have her wear an Elizabethan collar and to wrap her body with a small t-shirt, so that she can't reach her wounds

edit: just got the call back, she will be ready to come home at 5 pm. They had to put in a new drain on the big wound, and repair the stiching on the smaller 2 wounds. I can breath now...Fucking A.

Last night I ran a refund of about $70 back onto my card, and spent about $35 on the Frau.

After the refund I should have had a total of about $72 dollars left to last til the morning tomorrow.

Even asked the merchant if the refund was immediate and the answer was yes.

So I spent the money on the Frau.

Now I have .11 cents in my fucking account.

And as I am going through all this - I get my self injured in a verry stupid accident, I was at a friends barn looking into a place we could rpair BEtsy and took a 16 foot walk into thin air. Broke a few ribs and fractured my pelvis. I've been in the hosp. For the last few days toughing out the worst of it, tomorrow I should be geting released providing I have no kidney dammage.
