ready to come home
often times when I am at my worst I will find myself in my bed, in my room, in my own house saying all I want is to go home with no clue where home actually is. Perhaps the playa will offer me the home I have so often longed for.
I am a disabled, married, single mother. How am I married and a single mother you ask? My husband was sentenced to 10 years in prison for 2 misdemeanor probation violations 5 years ago. My best friend Jax Dee has been to several burns and we are hoping that I will be able to go to my first burn in 2012. I can't wait for all of the planning and packing and radical self reliance.

Welcome to Eplaya.
Savannah: I don't know what it is, but no thread here escapes alive. You'll get 1 or 2 real answers at minimum, occasionally 10 or 12, and then we flog it until it's unrecognizable and you can't get your deposit back.

Hey there, welcome to eplaya!

When I was a kid I used to pray every night for a new bicycle.
Then I realized that the Lord doesn't work that way so I stole one and asked Him to forgive me

Vilkommen to eplaya!
With JD as your best friend, I would say you have a good guide who has proven amazingly resilient to adverse conditions and near impossible situations. I would say you have an excellent guide for your safari.
The Frau and I wish you luck!

Welcome to ePlaya! You've come to the right place for planning the grand adventure, as well as connecting with some really great people.
Re: ready to come home
Welcome aboard, Temperance!
I think I understand what you mean about not feeling at home in your own house. I even own mine free and clear, and I still do not feel the least bit at home here. And I don't think I am the only one, so you have soul mates here. Again, welcome to the gang.
Many years ago, I knew a lovely and law-abiding lady whose husband took a wrong fork in the road and wound up in prison. It took her a while, but she finally got up the courage to divorce him and start her life over. I don't know if this might apply to you, but you reminded me of this lady.
In case your name, Temperance, means that you abstain from alcoholic beverages, I should mention that in some threads around here, like the Bar threads, we joke about alcohol quite a bit. Please don't let that bother you. There are a number of non-drinkers here also.
Enough for now!

Re: ready to come home
Though I am not a big drinker (until I start drinking and then I am, woo hahahaha) Temperance is more in reference to my nature and personality. I spent a long time trying to show how tough I was but have since decided to go ahead and show my true self which is actually a very mild giving person always trying to do right even unto those that may not have done so to me. Mix that with my Kitsune (Japanese fox spirit) nature that will enchant others sometimes for good sometimes for humor and you have a close proximity to myself. In case your name, Temperance, means that you abstain from alcoholic beverages

Re: ready to come home
wlecome, kitsune thats nine tails the fox spirit isn't it? For me coming to BRC was finding the home i longed for as a child and forgot about as i grew older. When i was told welcome home the child i had forgotten woke up and danced for joy. now my life is obsessed with finding a way to be closer to Black Rock city all the time, though its difficult to be physically closer being on here brings the smell of dust to me. I hope you find the home I did, if you do you'll find that anywhere is home as long as burning man and burners exist because then you have a family thousands strong.
