Ya, this is why we dont do (our) sanctioned regional anymore... To many rules....No fire??? WHAT...yeah, no fire or if there was fire you had to keep a 20 foot perimeter around it. Costumes...yup, cheaper if you wear them, but they actually dont care as they sale most of the tix at local outlets...so if you have a tix, who cares what you wear.
You have to buy only the proprietor watered down drinks at $5.50 a pop. 8 oz glass with 10 oz of ice and some wet stuff added on top to make the ice slightly float=2 oz of wet.2 sips and its empty.
We were brow beat about doing something different, (which we have done for the last 3 years...duh...)we were actually publically asked to buy a ticket and gift it to someone who wanted to go.
Then I hear, before we even go that the tickets at the outlets were sold out...isnt that the goal?
Then the numbers actually went up, past 1200...I know we dont have 1200 burners in Reno and the surrounding area...I bet 500 wernt even burners or B'irgins! But they're money is GOOD there!
Then looking at the pictures Metromix posted of the event...funny, I only saw 2 people I even know...in my hometown...at my supposible decom....I went where I wanted too, CAMPING!!! with fire and fire spinners, my booze that is nice and strong and lots of it for less then the price of 3 drinks. I could smoke a ciggarette anywhere I wanted too. I didnt get shut out of inside due to max occupancy fire marshal rules.
Our event lasted 4 days....in town event, 12 hours.
We uber cleaned up a piece of BLM property that was just ransacked. Left feeling like we made a difference, and the 4 wheelers were very very cool, came down and gave us a hella cool show! Then the next day saw us cleaning everything up with rakes, brooms and magnetic rakes. probably 40 #'s of nails, screws, tacks and staples. and commented on how nifty the magnetic rake was and how much that would save on tires! (maybe we made a responsible impact on them to clean up after themselves or before they ride...?)
Oh and the closest thing to a Costume/Outfit I wore was my leather chaps to spin fire in.....other wise I was in shorts and boots(there was stickers in some area's...)
A awesome time was had by all, we over ate, over drank, slept in, stayed up late, and were extremely SAFE!
So what really is a Burner Outfit?
Its what sparked your fancy when you looked in your bag, comfort, playability, utilitarian? ya...its what you fucking felt like wearing that day...or in my instance, 5 times a day...ya, I change alot.
Names pinemom, but my friends call me "Piney".
