I'm not an expert, but from what I've seen here, the alcoholics seem to have an easier time than the drug addicts. I've never done "drugs", so I don't really know their situation, but around the first of every month, when their SSI checks come in, we seem to lose another house member that goes out. Watching the behaviors and patterns here has been really helpful to me personally. Sorta like my old situation, but in bigger and more disastrous ways. It's sad, that the county mental health drops off alot of their patients here, when they really need more attentive treatment. Ive had an incredible urge, to go out for a dirty martini or bloody mary a time or two, but never felt the need to get drunk....or buy beer...my normal drink of choice. I knew George was depressed, and he had a seizure in the kitchen a few days ago...strange also, that in this mornings meeting, suicide came up a few times and I noticed George staring off into space.

I've been an Indy racing fan since I can remember. I watched it with my Dad and I pass it on to my sons. I've been to the Indianapolis 500 and watched as American Hero Al Unser won.

Yesterday, Indy Racing lost another Hero, Dan Wheldon who was fatally injured during the championship race at Las Vegas Speedway. He leaves behind a wife and 2 young son's.

Those involved in Indy racing, as well as other motor sports, including the fan's, are fully aware of how dangerous the sport can be, yet, thankfully, fatal accidents are rare. Safety is truly paramount in this sports. Sadly, yesterday, all of the safety systems in place were not enough...........

Dan Wheldon, 33, dies doing what he loved. As Tony Kanaan said after the race was called, Dan went the way many drivers would choose to go.

RIP Dan
Excuse me Ma'am, your going to feel a small prick.

Today, I am going to the funeral of the 6-day-old son of one of the founding members of my theme camp. His son was born with massive hemorrhaging in his brain and had no brain activity, so his parents made the extremely difficult choice to donate his other healthy, viable organs, so that a similar tragedy could be avoided for another family. So, by giving up his life, Elliot Calloway Burge became a hero for somebody else when his heart was successfully transplanted into another infant here in the USA.

A bit of nip for Crash Kitty to help her on the way on the other side
