For saying what I'm thinking when I'm reading about a teenage beauty contest and how unfair high school is to non-cheerleaders on a burning man forum. Thank you Simon. especially the satire comment. Honey, I'm sorry. but high school being unfair, and beauty contests, and undeserving beauty queen cheerleaders, Lord, that's just so far out of my ken. Tattoo Goddess, take it in stride, you have a pretty singular note you're playing in that thread. You put forward your personal art well, and most of us do respect craft and craftsmanship, but beauty contests sort of go against what I love about Burning Man. I think I was more surprised by all the folks who stepped up to support your relative and how unfair the judges had been. That shows what a kind group this is if anything does. my own opinion.

Most of the time the "ATTACK" is merely perceived and not necessarily meant to be offensive from the perspective of the originator.

I know i've offended some without even realizing it. It just comes naturally to some of us I guess. So I've come to terms by simply not taking things so seriously. To get wrapped up in our own ego is kinda like ol' Jim here,,, by himself and nothing to do but stew in his own juices.

um, no not actually...yes, i do have an aversion to bare male feet, i find it inappropriate and ugly....thats my opinion.

as far as fetish based sex, well, lets just say that contrary to what perverts may believe, not everyone is a pervert or thinks the way they do.

you may find the audience for that type of stuff is broader here, but trust me, it is by no means all inclusive.

some may actually find the constant drum beat of the old whips and chains crowd to be droll and boring.

i also hate Rocky Horror, so sue me.

Day late and a dollar short on this one, but I still figure I should say it........

Seems to me that Eplaya IS "Simon". Simon and the Simonesque. It's the flavour that we've all come to love. I'm completely flummoxed by the entire issue.... it completely goes against the grain of what I believe Eplaya to be.

That the snark waited until the second page was unbelievable, given the topic. I'd have been devastated if it had continued unscathed. This isn't "Moms & Tots", after all, or "Betty Crocker's Feel Good Home". It's the fucking Eplaya! (GROWL!!!!)

I don't stand up for much. But I would DEFINITELY stand up till I was WAY tired for Eplaya.

ok, here is where i back it up a bit...thank you for your kind words delle, but i have to disagree.

WE ALL ARE E-PLAYA

the collective that is this board is what makes it, not any one piece.

everyone plays a part, some badly, some brilliantly, and some are so obtuse as to be questionable, but nonetheless, part of eplaya, just as the actual playa is filled with a wide variety of people and personalities.

i was shocked by the kow-towing, ass kissing and hand holding that was going on by normally straightforward eplayans towards one particular person who seemed to demand kid gloves.

i turned the situation around with a dose of similar medicine, yes, i am a snarky bastard when i want to be, however i do not think this should be the norm for the board...if everybody tried to be an asshole, the place would begin to smell like shit...

Be Yourself, and respond accordingly....its so much better than pussy-footing.

However, if you are of a certain soft spoken personality type, use your silence to speak volumes.

just be you...everything will shake out in the end.

now, lets get back to talking about the thing that binds us together.

Just saw thew stage version and it was so watered down. I'm sure Disney is looking to get in on it.
