Breaking out boots tomorrow for maintenance before the leather peels back and cries for baby Jesus.
My wife's shoes I recently put about 7 layers of polish on - the boots. I think they may have forgotten what polish is.
Of course they aren't jimmy Choo like my wife's.
Ebay and $50 will get amazing things sometimes.

WOW I LOVE that site. We're always on the lookout for travel size and single serving items. Nice to have found a place where they are always available.Milayna wrote: - Nothing on this site needs refrigeration, perfect for condiment needs, although may make more trash to pack out? http://www.minimus.biz/Condiments.aspx

Cost Plus World Market also has those miniature condiments and other picnic-sized items (paté, mini cheeses, etc). Be careful; it's hard to leave that store without buying your weight in imported British candy.

I re-discovered corn nut chips, easier to chew with geezer teeth/gums... Santa Fe Ranch flavor; salty, savory, and mild spicy.

Started to paint a mannequin torso (acquired from Victoria's Secret Pink after a remodel). Have a good base of copper down, deciding the details now. It will go out by the trash fence.
Re: One Item for BM a Day
You know, I have a mannequin torso that I've been wanting for years to use in an art piece. I think you just inspired me! I am gonna get on that right away. Thx!AntiM wrote:Started to paint a mannequin torso (acquired from Victoria's Secret Pink after a remodel). Have a good base of copper down, deciding the details now. I began preparing new bunk beds for my "Old Kitty". An early 80's prowler travel trailer that I am redoing on the inside.
I removed the old fold-out couch at the front of the trailer and am replacing it with a queen mattress and a single bunk overhead.
A lot of work to do, but worth every drop of sweat!

Acquired 10 12-24v to 5v @ 3amp voltage regulators for my Blitter Bike project, got some more engraving bits for my CNC machine for milling circuit boards, and started designing Blitter Bike's core structure in Sketchup. Oh! And setup a writing tutorials-for-goods trade for getting most the rest of the electronics for the project. Very happy about that one as it keeps around a grand in my pocket for doing something I was basically going to do anyways!

Re: One Item for BM a Day
I reached out to a fire arts troop in Chicago that offers lessons in poi, which I've always wanted to learn. I've tried following along with beginner online videos that have you start with long socks and a tennis ball, but I can't seem to master even the most basic moves. I like to think of my myself as a great dancer, but anything where I have to follow an organized pattern is a challenge. I can't imagine that I'd rise to the level of actually spinning fire on the playa, but it's something that I've wanted to do since my first Burn, and so I'm going to follow through. I had a great response from the woman who teaches private classes, and I have a good feeling. It's about an hour drive into the city, but I've also had a goal of getting into Chicago more than I do. The challenge will be to stick with it long enough to see some progress. I'm sure there are many fire spinners that pick it up in a more organic fashion. I will have to make it work with paying for lessons. The good part is that I will be contributing toward the finances of a worthy artist

Shade cloth for art hut came in. My company picnic is Saturday (that is if I make it through deadly friday, lots of people being let go on friday's lately at work) so we probably won't get to put the monkeyhut up till Sunday.
Played with dyeing more scarves. Everyone in my life should kinda know what they are getting for christmas at this point, just sayin. There are LOTS of scarves around here lol.

maybe we should go to one of those!
(ive never done any poi stuff and dont really have much interest in doing it myself but its fun to watch)
Don't link to anything here!

My preparations are now in the soul searching phase, wondering of what I've done in the past is the best path for my burning future. Hmmm.

Re: One Item for BM a Day
It's been many a day since even looking at Eplaya but with only 280 days till departure 2012, it's time to get back in gear! Also, we got 18" of snow this week, so I need some indoor projects.
Anyway, doesn't exactly fall into the preparation category, but shareworthy in my opinion - my one item for Friday was getting my 2011 BM tattoo finished up!

Nice ink.
My item for today is finally cleaning and putting away the last of my burn camping gear.
But I actually prefer to look at it as pre packing it for next year's burn.
