Calling all nerds! We're trying to assemble a team to help build a knock-off of the Mos Eisley cantina in deep playa (assuming we get that placement).

We're in the east coast (NYC), and we're lucky to have a number of people experienced with bringing art out from here and understand the costs, but we would love to work with other nerds interested in fabricating art, decor, or helping with the overall design of the bar.

Right now we're trying to work out the overall costs of doing this project (shipping is $$$), and of course the compromises we have to make. Right now, we seek advice on how best to execute the structure and design of the bar.

Does anyone want to help or have any thoughts?

I'd totally help out. Not so good with design, but I can wield a nail gun and a paintbrush. And I'm in Jersey.

Also... Has anyone ever done a sarlacc pit?! That would be freakin awesome. Art car as the transport. Foam teeth and a moon bounce as the landing.

yo...

the artery will NOT let you build a bar/pub in the open playa, no matter how epic and artlike it is. Trust me on this, its been tested many times, so you should think instead about requesting esplanade placement.

@SpaceBar....

This past year I saw a (tiny) bar... on the 9' road to the man... about a third of the way to the man from the esplanade... so, even though not open playa, that'd be probably way better spot than just esplanade proper, no?
