How funny. Tomorow is Dad's 87th, and he was radarman on a PT boat in double-you-double-you-eye-eye.

OMG! words can't express how feckin awesome Seacompression was. I'm so blown away at the people, the art!! Everything!

Of course my shyness started to come forward. But then, the greeter said "welcome " and hugged the stuffing outta me. And from that moment on, the hugs flowed freely. People told me they love what I was wearing. me peyople just said to me, "I need to hug you! I walked around chatting with people! Laughed, ssang. I'm getting all choked up! I met Suzanne, a woman I was supposed to volunteer with serving food, but she had to put the kibosh on that. Ill write more in a little bit. I'm on the ferry for the island to mukilteo and we're about to dock!

I had so much fun Savannah! I've never met a group od friendly, caring, giving people. I posted an ad on my regionals board for a room to stay for the weekend., and this sweet woman named Melissa, invited me to stay in her beautiful home, sight unseen, not even knowing me. She was at the decompression site getting her place ready, She runs Camp Foster, and we met Saturday night by chance! I met another woman by chance named suzanne (pickles), I volunteered to help her run a couple of food concessions but she had to not do it due to time constraints, licenses, health dept. etc. I was standing my my ex hubby's daughter's art car and Suzanne was walking by with a tray of PB&J's. I said Hey I want to help you do that! So I followed her back to her trailer and there were a few other people in it. I introduced myself and instantly they welcomed me, asked me to sit down, and I said, ok! where the peanut butter! We mad a ton of sammies and I went out twice to deliver sammiches to the masses. Everyone wass so grateful for those sammies! I got even more hugs and a smooch on the cheek! I was held outside and it was cold, but they had 2 iron art pieces that were used as heaters! I have a few pics I'll post on FB! But here's one I'll share! *blussssshhhhh*

Yes he was very cute! And smelled good too! But he was probably just making an old lady happy! And I was pretty happy after that! But alas, dear Savannah, he was too young. Dammit! LOL

An encouraging word:

umm I would say both! excited to come back with a whole new attitude and a really good boost to my self esteem. After my divorce I was a very good mom to my kids as in no "new uncles" for my kids or anything like that but maybe that wasn't such a good thing for me as a woman. Well kids are grown and on their own now and now it is time for me again. So I'm back, oh yeah I'm back now. It feels good and it felt good! I will still carry myself with some restraint and dignity because I do live in a small town...

If you haven't ever felt not loved in a sexual way in a long time you might not understand this post. One night stands are usually over-rated and sometimes full of regrets. Not this one. I feel better about myself and more alive than I have in a long time. Maybe I have posted TMI but damn I needed to tell someone and this thread seemed like the best one and if you can't pour out your heart here then where? My kids and I have a really good relationship but uh this would be an awkward conversation, although I'm sure they'd be happy for me. On playa this past year my son kept telling me to go find a man :) .

So it may seem shallow but I feel attactive and fuckable. I know that it can happen and that it can be good and I don't need to be shy and scared any longer if I don't want to be.

That old saying "Once you learn how to ride a bike, you never forget"? yeah it's really true...

Lucky420, you make me proud! Go forth and conquer, there are lots of lovely men out there waiting to be devoured (trust me...)

As for my happy: the Boyfriend & I went to the SF-SPCA today with the intention of adopting two kittens, preferably both female & littermates if possible. They, of course, didn't have our exact match, but we found two females we really liked. One was alone, the other was with her two brothers from her litter. We started the process, but discovered that they would need to be kept separate for about a week because one was on medicine for a upper respiratory infection (fairly common in kittens)

We have a 1 bedroom Edwardian apartment with exactly one internal door- the one to the bathroom. There is no way to keep 2 cats separate, and the one on the meds was the one we liked the most; she was also the one with the brothers, who are also adorable. We talked about adopting one of the brothers with her, but sat there watching them play together & realized it would be nicer to keep them all together, so we now have 3 two month old kittens tearing through the place. They are purr-monsters, we are in heaven.

We have also discovered that the quickest way to figure out what needs to be kitten-proofed is to let a kitten run around. Eeek.

THREE kittens! Excellent. I haven't been around kittens since I was a kid. Or thought of the "Three" Little Kittens" rhyme.

It's quirkier than I remembered.

The three little kittens, they lost their mittens,
And they began to cry,
"Oh, mother dear, we sadly fear,
That we have lost our mittens."
"What! Lost your mittens, you naughty kittens!
Then you shall have no pie."
"Meow, meow, meow."
"Then you shall have no pie."

The three little kittens, they found their mittens,
And they began to cry,
"Oh, mother dear, see here, see here,
For we have found our mittens."
"Put on your mittens, you silly kittens,
And you shall have some pie."
"Purr, purr, purr,
Oh, let us have some pie."

The three little kittens put on their mittens,
And soon ate up the pie,
"Oh, mother dear, we greatly fear,
That we have soiled our mittens."
"What, soiled your mittens, you naughty kittens!"
Then they began to sigh,
"Meow, meow, meow,"
Then they began to sigh.

The three little kittens, they washed their mittens,
And hung them out to dry,
"Oh, mother dear, do you not hear,
That we have washed our mittens?"
"What, washed your mittens, then you're good kittens,
But I smell a rat close by."
"Meow, meow, meow,
We smell a rat close by."

Heyo thanks for the happy thread. lucky....don't worry a bit.
Now when all you folks get tired of same old same old happiness stuff come on over to my depressing political threads!
Being bummed out about the state of the economy will only enhance your relief at returning to this place of happiness.

I once met Beat Poet Michael McClure's wife when she was well into her 70's. She had an absolutely gorgeous twinkly infectious smile that spoke of buckets of attractiveness and I thought to myself...geee what if? ... So there. chew on it.

OMG! Thank you so much for that, Savannah. I used to read that to my girls when they were but kittens themselves, what great memories that invokes. Alas, their tastes changed over the years I think it ended at Tolkien but I suspect there was no real interest in in Hobbits or Middleearth but rather amusement at my mangling all the unusual names (at least I think that's why they gigled at inappropriate moments).

Good on you Eric, particularly for not separating them. They will keep each other occupied and you endlessly amused.

They are currently destroying what we thought was a kitten-proofed house, and, yes, amusing us no end. They are adorable, and love to curl up in a pile to sleep- keeping them together was definitely the right thing to do. We are completely happy with them!

Yay! That's putting the LUCKY in Lucky420. Atta girl!
I too was reminded of younger days at the burn. I didn't have the opportunity to feel fuckable, maybe suckable, but most definately kissable.
I was riding my bike past the HD Cafe near 4:30 & B or C when a gentleman flags me down. He said he needed someone to kiss the girl in their kissing booth. What? I looked over and she was quite attractive. I wondered aloud if he was fucking with me. He said no. I almost tripped over my thrown down bicycle as I sprinted for the booth before someone changed their mind. There was clapping and shouting from the spectators on two couches that faced the booth.
I stepped up and prepared to give her a peck. Then the guy tells me I have to go for 10 seconds! I asked the gal what kind of a kiss she'd like and she said whatever kind I wanted.
Let me tell ya, it was a doozie!
It started tentatively but ended up being a tongue tangling, teeth bumping, nose mashing, hands on the backs of the heads and pulling kind of kiss!
Fuck! It's been 20 years since I kissed anyone but Sweetpea and I LOVED EVERY SECOND OF IT!
Then I found out what the deal was. At this kissing booth, when you've kissed the person in the booth, they are released and you step behind the counter! YES! I had the prospect of gettin me some more kissin!
I was asked what my preference was, girl or boy to which I said "Whatever". After what seemed like an eternity, they got a gal to come over. She was beautiful! This kiss lasted almost thirty seconds!
Holy shit folks. I felt like I was 17 again.

On the way back to camp I passed another kissing booth. Oh hell yes! It was conventional but who cares. There was a guy and a girl behind the counter.
I kissed em both.
First time I'd ever kissed a guy. Not bad at all...
He was cute as hell too.

YAY!
