That's cool, man. I like that you're keeping it true to the period as well. Good on ya' and the help as well.

We set a couple of step rails into a nice set of stone steps the other day.

Here's a pic

This Blue Kentucky stone is tough as tough can be. We core drilled 2" holes in concrete at about 6 to 1 compared to the stone. Wow.

I don't know exactly about the stone. It's a very hard aggregate of ancient ocean floor stuff. Must be some sort of limestone, since that's the predominant rock around here.
