Just Getting Started!
GOOD MORNING BURNINGMAN!!!
You may call me Keeper! My wife and I attended our first (and second) burn this fall. Sadly we have yet to make it to the Playa. We attended Alchemy (in Georgia) and then came home for a two day rest and headed up the road to Playa del Fuego (in Deleware).
My sister-in-law has made us promise to meet her in Reno for BM 2012! And we are eager to keep that promise. Can't begin to describe how "at home" we have felt since finding our "Burn Families". Any tips, tricks, or pointers to a Virgin Burner are greatly appreciated. (We found out what works in the "Grassy Playa" but I know The Man is a whole different creature...)
Love and Hugs!
~Keeper

Welcome.
Savannah: I don't know what it is, but no thread here escapes alive. You'll get 1 or 2 real answers at minimum, occasionally 10 or 12, and then we flog it until it's unrecognizable and you can't get your deposit back.

One tip I can offer is to read this thread from beginning to end.
I'm not saying it's a good tip, however.

Wait, has anybody posted anything useful yet?
Okay, pretend that this post was first, Keeper. Our snark is worse than our actual bite.

Hi Keeper, welcome (to you and your wife) to ePlaya! In addition to a great online community, both the main Burning Man site and these boards have some excellent resources to help you prepare for the journey ahead. Take a look around - there are a lot of great threads/discussions on the boards, and if you've got a question you don't see covered, ask!

Hi Keeper!
Download the 2011 Survival Guide in printable form, if you haven't already . . .
http://www.burningman.com/preparation/e ... index.html
There's not a whole lot of tips given in the introduce yourself threads because it's such a broad request that we can't focus. You might not know how broad until you go to the "Preparation" forum and subforums.
If you're ever having difficulty finding something googling [keyword] and eplaya works better than expected. We help too . . . & only some of us bite.

Especially absinthe. To the Meet & Greet. Or the back of my RV. Either way works.

Keeper welcome to eplaya!
I really hope you come back at some point and check your intro thread.
Its been a week since your first and last post, so I have a feeling you were a one time shopper. O well.
