People yanking their funds out of banks: bravo! I wish people would do more useful things like that. Boycotts, marches on the capitol, retaliatory campaign action, voter blocks, etc. That would be awesome. Like the civil rights campaigns of the 1950s and 1960s.
I know I'm glad you returned BBadger. My health is not good, I can't march, but I can, and
will influence more people to yank more money.
Boycotting is also easy to accomplish. Emailing and posting, also easy.
Google didn't offer a clear explanation for voter blocks (mostly discrimination, bigotry in the South, not what you implied I am sure)
More suggestions the 99% can do, from their jobs, homes, etc. would be appreciated.

There were 50,000+/- people in the streets in Oakland. People in Iran are showing support. It's all over the social media. Frankly, I have never seen anything like this since the 60''s. And they didn't even have cell phones back then, let alone the Internet.

This.
You can call it a bunch of lazy ass hippies with no direction that just feel like marching for the sake of marching.. but in the end.. what has happened is a shift in the entire way that discussion is being had around the country. When was the last time that you heard the Regis & Kathy Lee crowd utter the words "corporate greed"?
It's not the actual marching, the yelling, the signs in the streets.. it's the way that it's changed the general consciousness and conversation topics in this country.
True, but even that crowd is controlled by bigger purses that inhibit factual reporting...it's progress, but
don't forget how many months there was a media blackout regarding OWS by those same purses hoping it would all go away. It hasn't, and it won't of course, but I would bet that the 99% are going to pay the first installments financially and maybe more before the 1% will grudgingly chip in a buck.
Woody Allen said "In perpetrating a revolution, there are two requirements: someone or something to revolt against and someone to actually show up and do the revolting. Dress is usually casual and both parties may be flexible about time and place, but if either faction fails to attend, the whole enterprise is likely to come off badly." Until the 1% is dragged, kicking and screaming to the party we have a stalemate.
Where are these 'hippies' everyone talks about? I think they're just hard core drug addicts and alcoholics in the streets wearing hippie clothes.
I''m going on a hippie hunt...I'd like to see a real one.
I marched on Wash. D.C. at age 8, 9 and 10, we made road trips there frequently. My family paraded me around with a Kent State jacket on. We stayed in a politicians mansion. His son threw open the doors and 100's of people/hippies

lived there (his politician father was clueless) I always wanted to go sing with Country Joe, because he sang the gimme an F U C K song (I guess little kids like taboo words? and I did sing with him, grin) Then when they overturned and burned buses, everyone ran in different directions and I ran off with the flower children for a time, they were very nice people. When we went marching on Wash. D.C. I learned to hide from truant officers and hop trains! My older sister and I rode one all the way to Maine, and then, that war ended. I'm alive and doing okay, so bring it on....I can accomplish a lot without camping in the streets.
Yes, marching on the capitol made a difference.
bigdane, How far back do you estimate, or know, the media has blocked the coverage of OWS? I'm curious because I was told to watch for something about protests while AT Burning Man 2011. (I was distracted at the time; I cannot recall if they said OWS)
I'm the MAN in a truck, burner who is stuck, you're in luck! I'll whip out my BIG tow chain and not charge you, not even one lousy buck!
