Infrastructure is still being worked out - some things are in place and some things are still in flux - but the goal (right now) is to have two domes (sound familar?) connected front to back to accomodate a reception area in front and a grand ballroom in the rear, accessible only to those who have come in the spirit of the evening's theme and can answer the magic questions correctly *. The front area will include a small desk for sign-ins (guest book), a few chairs, a couple of couch/loveseats, and a table that will have non-alcoholic refreshments of some kind, and a beautiful chandelier - very formal and antique-y. The rear dome will have a couple of couch/loveseats, a few chairs, the bar, and a large pile of big pillows. Perhaps another chandelier or a large ceiling fan, but the style will be much more modern and sleek. The topics of a formal entrance (with locking door) and a 'dance floor' (those stilletoes will be hell on anything else) are being considered. There would also be, of course, a lighted sign near the entrance. We are working on finding/making pink or purple bulbs for our share of TC's street lighting.
Theme nights will, of course, play a huge part of the interactivity of the camp. Some of the ideas tossed out so far include, Superheroes Night, Fairy Tales, and The French Invasion - all very costume oriented. We would like to work closely with Sex Filth Avenue for mutual promotion.
We will be looking at taking on new campers that feel they may fit in with this rowdy, sexy, gender-blended, divalicious, fun-loving group, but honey, when its time to work we expect you to work hard and when it's time to play we expect you to play hard too - lol. And, of course, all the girly diva-ness aside (Sparkle Ponies, pay attention), this is a no drama camp. If you are interested, post here, look me up on facebook, or check out The Swish Embassy on facebook (for the time being, an open group - that will change later because we don't want to give away *all* the surprises...)
So, whatdayathink? Hopefully, we get some good ideas and suggestions before this gets to page two...
