LOTTO WILL BE A DISASTER
At this point I am worried and wonder where Burning man is headed. MY concern? I have invested 8,000.00 and furnished a theme camp for 9 years and need a crew of ten to set it up so now I may not get to come and If I do, what if my early arrival helpers don't get tickets? who will help with set up? I agree with most, this is because of people who wait till the last minute to get tix and then lose out and whine that someone has been unfair to them. Punished for being a faithful participant. Burning Man is turning into exactly what we all want to leave behind for a week. For the last two years it has gone down hill, from the traffic issues and now the tickets. what's next? begging?

As a veteran, you should know that Burning Man transforms itself every year.
Many of the traditions that you remember from your early days are gone forever, like the ashes of the Man himself.

The only thing that's constant in life is change.
I understand how many years of effort, hard work and dedication goes into these theme camps. It is also of a greater sentimental and emotional value to lot of burners who have been doing this all their life.
But maybe this is a way to re-evaluate our lives, with or without burning man. Why are we so obsessed about things?
If we all found some kind of inner peace, we wouldn't be so attached to an event, would we? We would just be as peaceful at home as we are on playa.
I guess it's a long, winding road...

A ticket lottery and a lotto are very, very different things. As with anything, there's a potential for it to go badly and a potential for it to go well. Take a few deep breaths, relax (it's still just mid-November), and wait for details and the FAQ to be posted so you can make an intelligent, informed decision.
