The fact that they are trying so hard to pass it is suspicious in pointing toward the ulterior motive of censorship favorable to creating a stronger police state. I've had problems with copyright violators and software pirates (Cyclonite and Vepergen in particular), but these moves are really a draconian step against free speech.

Yep. Strategically unimportant though. This stuff will probably die down with the onset of the holidays and I expect there to be more unrest starting with Mardi Gras in early spring and gradually heading north (maybe LA or Miami might burn during the winter). The reason we are last to protest on the world stage is because we've been relatively well off compared to most nations not having been seriously inconvenienced by bank malfeasance, but that's starting to change.

Starting with Reagan though and the "tough on crime" excuse to militarize the police force, build more prisons, it seems pretty clear to me that some had this as their big picture agenda for quite a while.

I'm pretty sure nobody has gone there. The only association has been that he was living there; but the incident doesn't seem to be related and it doesn't appear that the attackers were part of OWS.

Yeah, they seem to think that he was just a garden variety Oakland thug, and that if only Occupy wasn't camping in the Plaza, they would clean up crime in Oakland.


Perhaps they are suffering from the delusions, or maybe it's possession by the devil. I'm not sure.
