Dreamt about the 2012 Burn

Post by bubbavic » Tue Nov 22, 2011 4:56 pm

Well it was less about the burn itself than me suddenly having arrived at next year's burn. In my dream, I arrived totally unprepared with a half-filled duffel bag of leftover unsorted oddities from this years burn. No lights. No camping gear. No food. No gifts. No BOOZE! No Sparkle Pony Goodness! Just a few odds and ends and some clothes. I spent the rest of the dream scrambling around trying to MacGyver something out of the random bits I found.

Hmm, time to start planning and packing maybe? Or does it mean something else?

I have had a similar dream. Well, actually I usually have that dream about 2 dozen times each year. I think its a fear of not being self-reliant.

You dreamt about my 2006 year. I have that copy written. That really is a very common dream. I have woken in a cold sweat dreaming that I had not a single thing with me. I forgot virtually everything.

I had a dream like that a few weeks ago, but I had not even yet arrived at the burn - I was wandering around somewhere near Reno on foot with my camelback and nothing else, no water, nothing. Other people were all wandering around, and we were all slowly walking towards the playa. There was an abandoned husk of a building with fires inside, visible through the empty windows. I remembered this as a landmark, guiding me to the burn.

I had another dream last night but was better prepared. Only this time I was setting up my tent in some sort of overflow area - where green grass was growing.

Anyone ever have burning man but not on the playa dreams? These are the most strange to me. Perhaps they are calling me to go to regionals.

I have some kind of random, fragmented dream about being at the burn at least once a month or every few weeks. Rarely can I remember them longer than an hour or so after I wake up.

Funny dreams people I kind of recognize all of em from my deep subconscious too. My repeated BMan dream that I have is the playa and city is more closely interwoven with the default world physically. It always confuses the shit outta me in the dream. Its like Pines > Playa without much warning. I think there has even been a viewing area for actual tourists....and some kind of line to get in like Disney land at one point.....and an oddly multi pastel colored adobe city out in a white crusted desert patch like some creepy Mayan 50's pool with that turquoise color. One time you had to go through some dingy huge 1800s market barn all wild west, but then it was some hot spring like world, THEN you get to the Playa, which is in the dream, a GIGANTIC racetrack shantytown.

Fuck that!!! hahahaha

For me it's the fear of not having what I need and/or want.

Forget Burn, I dreamt about working in a office with ePlayans. From all the pandemonium I can remember from the dream, it seemed like kinda fun...
And Eric was the hugger of the office.
In my world there's only legible and more legible.

WE.
Not everything is within our control. We do the best we can and fake it from there. Taking that first step is usually the hardest (no knowing the outcome), the second step is a bit easier, and before you know it you are on your way...

All anyone can do is embrace the challenges. When has a burn ever gone smoothly? Do we not plan, and then adapt/improvise as required??

Certainly some of my dreams have had that unprepared theme, but many others have made my desire so intense I wake up crying with joy...

Plan, prepare, anticipate, improvise. We can do nothing more.

Guys, I've been reviewing the numbers, and our productivity is up.

Did the board crash?
