Sometimes I'm confused by what I think is really obvious. But what I think is really obvious obviously isn't obvious.

Took my Vette to the shop today, wifey ran over a large rock and damaged the underside. Worried about how much it's going to cost to fix.

NOT JUST WORRIED, BUT CONFUSED AND ANGRY ABOUT THE 2012 THICKET SITUATION
thicket_small.JPG
Will there be a thicket in 2012? Will it be a repeat of a previous year's thicket? Will there be room for everyone to hide from predators? Will the thicket be full of coyotes, raptors, scalpers, and other predators? I need to make plans to hide, I cannot wait until the summer. Why has BMorg been silent about the thickets? Hiding places should go to the first people to get to the thicket. Being eaten should not be left to random chance.

Oh man, I loved that thicket.

Today I am worried about, my daughter's depression. She inherited it from my gene pool.

I'm having surgery after New Years. First surgery ever.

You'll be fine. Mine is not scheduled yet. Not my first hernia, and certainly not my first surgery. I've had something like five major surgeries, one reason I am prone to hernias now. A couple emergency ectopic pregnancies, a tubal ligation, a partial colonectomy, then the hernia (post surgical), the partial mastectomy, and various other small surgeries under general anesthesia. I like the way I cease to exist when the gas/drugs are applied.

What any tips? Hopefully yours will be simple and quick!

I did not have my son John circumcised when he was born, he was a nicu baby and i thought they had poked and prodded enough and really what's the point? Anyway, he had hernia repair surgery at 18 years old and told the surgeon hey, while you are there... Not sure why he wanted that done, but off it went. Poor guy, he healed really really quickly from the hernia thing, but he walked funny for WEEKS.

I understand it will be outpatient! And it will be microsurgery, so not a lot of cutting. I'll know more after I meet with the surgeon in January. My biggest fear was always based on those stories I heard about people being put under but still being able to feel the pain but not being able to let anyone know. But I had general anesthesia last year for a colonoscopy and I was out like a light, so I'm not worried about the anesthetic anymore. But I'll take any tips you got.

If the colonoscopy went well, then this should too. Outpatient is easy, relatively speaking. Do you have your "escort" lined up?
If your surgeon gives you a special diet for during recovery, be sure to have all the foods on hand, ready to go. Take a second set of eyes and ears to the meeting with the surgeon if possible.
