Super glue, first aid
Just split a thumb nail to the quick. Along with that a half moon cut on the finger. I soaked them clean and applied super glue. Hope this is useful to others. As the nail grows out it sheds the glue. Same with the cut. The glue makes a temperary shin. It will peel by it's self in a few days. Doctors glued a graft over a large cut on my finger last year. Works for me
I'm the contraptioneer your mother warned you about.

Superglue is fantastic for sealing wounds. That new "Liquid Bandage" stuff is essentially superglue. Totally safe cause it doesn't really soak very far into the skin, but creates a total seal so nothing bad can get into the cut.
Great stuff. Especially in a really dusty place. I should probably add some to my first aid kit.

From what I know, it does sting a little, but it is quite sterile. You would want to take care of the wound just like any other including washing/cleaning and drying the wound before applying the super glue. It's meant to keep the bad stuff out, but it's pretty pointless if you don't wash the wound and seal the bad stuff *in*.madmatt wrote:Obviously you have to wash and dry the wound...but does the superglue sting bad?
