Grateful newbie :)
Just setting up an account gets me excited...to finally be a part of this wonderment.
I've wanted to get to BM for many years now. Finally feeling ready, as my kiddo is old enough to be without out me (don't worry I'll put out food and water) for over a week.
I appreciate the massive amounts of been-there-done-that info available to us newbies. I have been absorbing it all and loving dreaming...although I'm sure my wildest dreams won't come close to my actual experience. Anyway, I thought it was about time to set myself up here, I've enjoyed lurking, now I plan to enjoy be a part of!
Warmly, earthmama

Welcome to eplaya.
Savannah: I don't know what it is, but no thread here escapes alive. You'll get 1 or 2 real answers at minimum, occasionally 10 or 12, and then we flog it until it's unrecognizable and you can't get your deposit back.

This is a good time for being grateful.
(Even with the ticket mess and the silly theme.)
Welcome Mama!
Oh and I do love the brown eyes...

Hey there, welcome to eplaya!

When I was a kid I used to pray every night for a new bicycle.
Then I realized that the Lord doesn't work that way so I stole one and asked Him to forgive me

Thanks you guys. I was up last night waaay too late watching and reading about Hexayurts. I'm amazed! I love the hexayurt thread and Julie Danger's information soooo much good stuff.
JKisha--I'd love to see more pics of your builds. Also I'm curious to know about the windows...hmm perhaps a post in the hexayurt thread is needed

Hola Earthmomma! So glad you unlurked and introduced yourself. I lurked for months before I joined up last year. Please don't hesitate to ask questions, as snarky as we get from time to time we are a hopelessly helpful bunch.

Re: Grateful newbie :)
aww shucks...thanks for the warm welcome guys! Have to say that you all are an intimidating group to jump into!
I already feel at "home" and can't wait to get there next year. I just keep reading and reading and bookmarking and bookmarking...haha there is so much awesome info here. I really hope to get to some events locally and get more involved before the big thing goes down.
I just finished reading 'The Fifth Sacred Thing'....rocked my world, if you haven't you should read it...that's about all the advice I can give to a seasoned group like you
...and by seasoned I don't mean old...er well maybe I do...

Hi earthmama! *waving wildly* Welcome to eplaya!!
Sometimes I'm confused by what I think is really obvious. But what I think is really obvious obviously isn't obvious.
Re: Grateful newbie :)
Welcome!
I think hexayurts are badass...you might find some extra and/or used materials in the North Bay and save a few bucks and learn some quality hands on practical experience for putting one together.

Hey Earthmama, welcome to eplaya!
One tip,
Be careful of Doc and Tamarakay, they run a highly inclusive and addictive group! They will suck you in and not let you go!
Instead of seasoned, maybe go with "dusted and un-showered"earthmama627 wrote:that's about all the advice I can give to a seasoned group like you...and by seasoned I don't mean old...er well maybe I do...

Welcome! I heard you have to feed children almost daily. That must be a lot of dog food or processed "chicken" nuggets or whatever the little brats eat.earthmama627 wrote:Just setting up an account gets me excited...to finally be a part of this wonderment.

No one has a natural reference to Black Rock City, so go with an open mind and be willing to have a good time, be a little confused and don't try to see it all. I imagine you know all this already.
See you in the dust and have a good new year.
