And it must be said that BRCP takes it better than almost everyone. That's refreshing.

Thanks for the kind words, guys, and happy to be able to help BRCP. And thank you for filling in with the chart, Bbadger (I was just looking at the variance from previous year).

The two concerns (and the two major variables) are scalpers and hoarders. On the paranoid/ohnoes end of the spectrum, I think registration and a random draw ensure everyone's got a chance against them. On the opposite/yawntastic end of the spectrum, 40K tickets in the main sale should be more than enough to cover normal demand (last year had around 30K demand in January). For what it's worth, I think that our chances (for those planning on participating in the main sale) are really good.

I plan on $400 for a ticket for the next few years.

After that I will move on to a new adventure..

the new ticket idea is bad. we DO need to occupy BRC. we have to take this city back from the corporations. who's city? OUR CITY!

it's the corporations that are driving up ticket sales. power to the people: we can buy up as many tickets as possible and then sell them back to the corporate yuppie scum that infest the city. plus, we'll make enough profit to pay for our entire trip there, and back. we did this last year. it was fucking awesome! when tickets sold out, it was like selling shit in a shit storm to these corporate masters. they loved it and asked for more helpings. LOL!

Of course, in the process you're taking tickets away from other artists. Shame on you and all your campmates.

Sandypandy you are sorely mistaken. You can't name one corporation that has driven up the price of burningman tickets. In fact, an argument could be made that ticket prices are as high as they are because we have purposely kept the corporate world, and their sponsorship money, off of the playa. And we should continue to do so. But your anger has no substance except your hatred for that which the United States has stood for: capitalism and personal growth and achievement. It is not our city to "occupy"; it is indeed a privilege to be a part of such a fascinating and eclectic community. But cool your jets on your anti-corporate stance. It makes you look like an idiot.

This person does not represent the Occupy BRC camp. I doubt they are part of the global revolution and also doubt that they have been to the occupy wall st website and have read what we are opposed to. As I understand it the new ticket process will seriously inhibit the ability to buy huge lots of tickets to resell. If anything they are a ticket reseller thats pissed off that their commodification of our community has further been inhibited.

Well honestly if you read it the Occupy was really only the title and a joke. I'm not actually suggesting that and it is even pretty unrelated to this topic.
It was my over all thoughts on the whole process.
But whatever.

Your thoughts are fine. Happy to have them. But using an inflammatory, redundant & non-related topic is bad form, and has now caused whatever you wanted to say to be merged with a (by your own description) inaccurately titled thread.

Please, check at least the first page or 2 for similar threads before posting.

Have you introduced yourself on the "introduce yourself" thread? (Rhetorical)

Please take a few moments and read the FAQ.

Hi, I'm the CO, welcome to eplaya! Tell us a little about yourself. Love the pics you've posted so far!

Also, we don't like cross-posting in this forum. Some of us are busy people and don't want to read the same thing twice in five minutes.

Your numerous threats against our camp are being documented. Your constant stalking is being documented. We are aware of your standing with the Black Rock Rangers, we are aware of your support of the theft of private property. And now we are aware of you being a snitch and your willingness to abuse your position with the Black Rock Rangers and their relationship with LEOs to create false crimes/incidents. The whole world is watching, dox have been prepared, and now police reports are going to have to be made to protect our campmates from this latest crminal threat from the Black Rock Rangers.

Screenshot = done.

just got word via skype about this threat, missed it, surprised that mods and brc rangers are willing to support/put up with blatant felonious activity. We will be expecting trouble in our camp from Badger and other Rangers and we will be prepared to defend ourselves from threats made on and off of eplaya.

My original post "Occupy BRC Ticket Solution" started out simply as a half baked thought which was partially brought on by a recent Occupy experience I was a part of. It was not intended to be a start of any Occupy movement on the playa.
It was all in good fun but recently the moderator has merged some other "Occupy" discussion thread which in no way is related to the original thought nor represents Camp Spank of America views. Now the merged thread has got out of hand and the tone does not have a good burner philosophy feel to it.
I ask the moderator of this thread to do whatever is necessary to make things right.
Opinions are one thing, but the threats and such are another and this forum should not be a host to such hostility.
Camp Spank of America and it's members are not associated with any Occupy BRC camp or Occupy movement and have no intentions of protesting BRC,the BLM or any other entity especially on the sacred playa!
Respectfully.

Actually, from what I can gather BRCP is posting in response to a snarky comment made by Bbadger to the original discussion, back in November. Nevertheless, I'm more than happy to declare the horse dead.
