I'm going to buy the lowest tier ticket. Then apply for a low income ticket. If I get the low income I will sell the low tier ticket at face value.
It worked last year. I really want to go again. I'm entering a masters program and don't even know if I have financial aid yet. And I have to move across the state. Money will be very tight. I scrimp and save all year for the playa.

Fortunately, the low income/scholarship programs are being merged and reworked for 2012, with tighter controls to make sure that kind of thing doesn't happen.

Ya, I was going to say.. if you can afford a tier one ticket, then why are you applying for a low income ticket as well?

Damn it's getting crowded. Count two more in for the Playa. I'm going and my brother-in-law from the Netherlands is going.
You know it's going to be a bad day when you jump out of bed and miss the floor.

I'm starting to get a little excited but until I have the ticket in my hand, I'll hold off jumping around and acting like an idiot. I'm a little concerned that I wont get a ticket with this new lottery thing, so I'm holding off. Meanwhile, I can have some fun building shit and playing with batteries and lights and solar stuff and evap ponds and pumps and bikes and....well, you get the idea.

I'm going again, and am not too worried about the lottery, though I'll be hoping for a second tier ticket...

and my son will be going (for his 6th year running), again, hoping the lottery system works for us.

(anyone else notice how hard it is to type with fingers crossed??) :?

This lottery bullshit is the first thing, ever, to make me feel ambivalent about going. I used to be able to just ignore the bmorg. Now they're actively fucking with me.
