. im not even a mod anymore, but there will always be a huge amount of animosity just because im the person who tried to pull the eplaya back online.

I remember "before" very well, and I've never had a problem with any of the mods. I know sometime you could come off a little strong Spect, but you got the job done during a period that makes the worst now look like a playground. If you and the other mods hadn't, I probably would have left permanently, instead of just taking an 18 month break a couple of years ago.

It was ugly in here.

i had to be harsh sometimes during that period just to keep things going. created a negative opinion of me in many eyes, maybe rightfully so.. if it wasnt with the same people i had to be difficult with.

but im happy if it helped you. eplaya was one of the main places people came to for an intro and a positive place to connect. there wasnt much of a chance i would let it go down without a fight... even if there wasnt much to fight for at the time.

mods should not plonk people as a basic function of the role sue. i dont think i had that ability pulled, i just errantly trusted mods would know better and why.

We have the ability, the "can't" is just part of being a mod. We do know better.

I do think it's funny as well, but also find it kind of a sad statement about the plonker that they're not resilient enough to deal with opposing personalities and viewpoints and perhaps take things like this board way too serious to an almost unhealthy point. To me, everything in life is the spice of life. Variety in people and personalities are what make up this world. Just because I don't like what someone has to say doesn't mean that I feel like I need to wear blinders and stick my fingers in my ears while going NANANANANANANANANANANANA so I can't hear them. That's just childish and I would expect more and especially from this crowd.

..but hey.. that's just me. To each their own..

@ygmir I can't believe anybody would have you plonked.

@junglesmacks I had a few people plonked on the old board--it's not a nana nana thing. There were a few people that said things that were so contrary to how I think and believe that it was making eplaya unpleasant for me. Better to plonk than enter into mortal verbal combat and end up getting banned.

The first rule of plonking is that you never let anyone know that you have plonked, otherwise you will be left reading the residue of various inside jokes made at your expense.

This advice is purely academic for me, as I abstain from plonking behavior.
