As I implied with my previous posts, this is a retarded conversation for retards. I don't care if you hate hippies, ravers, jews, kikes, niggers, fags, DJs, cripples, lepers, bitches, or lawyers. Your subscription to, and use of, these blindly ignorant and completely subjective labels and your willingness to defend your ignorance as some sort of virtue just means that YOU'RE A FUCKING MORON. Get over yourself. </my opinion>

?? chill out man, someones got issuuuuuuuuues man. dude if you dont care like you say, bug outta the damn post, if you really dont care you wouldn't even responded to the post. and by blatantly telling everyone in this post that you dont label yourself doesnt really matter. why should we care?? half of us probably dont even give two shits about you and your ass hat attitude, sure lables are fucking stupid which is why i JUST said "i dont consider myself a hippie id like to call myself a me." which completely makes your statement to me null and void, the others? maybe not so much, but still you damn Snarc get the hell over yourself and learn that not one of us gives two shits about anything you say (other then me of corse hence the post) you, who self proclaims that you dont label yourself, you who causes the people who come onto this thread to chat nicely, kick back and relax and try to actually discuss some of the issues we constantly see all over the place. I have given you a label now, and forever on from this point in time, you shal be known as Snarc. you and your harmful opinions bring nothing but aggravation to the good people that appeal to this website. WE as humans MUST label EVERYTHING, without a name or a "LABEL" a thing cannot become part of the human vocal chain. LABELS are what runs our language my friend and anyone who says labels shouldn't be used must be one of the most arrogant people ive ever seen, arrogance, it fills your soul and rots you from the inside out, if you have a soul left to taint, you seem like you are quite a cold person, left as a hollow shell in the mind boggling theory we call the time space continuum, the day you stop coming in contact with us will your opinion matter??? in fact in less than a month i myself will most likely completely forgotten your cruel words, this reply and even you. cruel word do not stand strong, harm will always fail to build a structure in modern society. So GOOD DAY JSTEP THE INVISIBLE SNARC!!! and hopefully you can learn in time how asinine you sound, if your words to touch my eardrums, slime would drip from my ear canals, go forth and find out what causing so much grief will do not only to a person, but see how far it gets you, only the ones who have the brains and the kindness to envelope people into attention will ever make a mark. you are nothing but a freckel on the ass of the universe, screaming "PLEASE DONT SIT DOWN AGAIN"

LOL, I think you read WAY too much into my post without seeing the irony I intended.
But, to clarify, I think there's a difference between a label like "hippy" or "jew" and a noun, which you must be referring to when you say they're necessary to have communication about things.
My post was somewhat silly, as "lawyer" is not really a subjective term. I simply meant to bash the indiscriminate use of subjective and derisive labels as a tool to dismiss people we don't even know with a dehumanizing word, and hopefully demonstrate that these words is ubiquitous; ie we fit labels for other folks too. I hate racists and xenophobes, they might hate me for being a lefty socialist and moral relativist. It's all just a stew of pointless absurdities we toss at each other like pent up monkeys in a cage flinging poo. To an observer, neither the big brown monkey nor the small black monkey seem superior to the other. They both seem equally sad.

Huh?
Trance is 130 to 140 BPM and that's about where the similarities end. Trance is 4 on the floor, always. Dubstep is a highly syncopated beat in half-time to the 140 BPM tempo. Trance is built on progressive synth lines highly filtered and with delay added. Dubstep is built on acid synth lines alternating with distorted wobbly bass parts. Points for the use of the term LFO though, lol.
Even ravers hate dubstep because breaks is hard to dance to.
If you read that as me accusing all dubstep haters of having no rhythm, I totally am.

Re: whats with the hippie/raver hate
Honest answers"
1) Ravers: Look at the playa moop map for any year. Guess where most of the litter is concentrated. The candy ravers dance all night and don't give a fuck what happened to their bunny ears or water bottle. Then they pass out on your couch, which is fine as long as they don't puke on anything. So, Saturday after the burn in 2010 my camp wandered over to Root Society and the dancers looked completely freaked out at the sight of naked people on the dance platform. Not sure if it was the nudity or the fact that none of these men and women were under 25, which makes them old.
People who go to Burning Man just to pop ecstacy and rave nonstop for three days contribute little and require a lot. Right now there are people with amazing art, music or service to share who can't get a ticket because Burning Man is massively popular with the Crystal Method set. Raves happen everywhere all the time. Burning Man doesn't.
2) Hippies: Here are three examples:
a) 2005, a guy--"I'm just an old hippie, you know" asked us for a ride to San Francisco during Exodus. Told him we were going to Portland. He said this was his tenth burn without vehicle but only the third time he'd been stranded. Radical Self Reliance?
b) We're serving root beer and ice cream all afternoon on Sunday before the burn, and some trustafarian-looking guy with three hippie girls in tow walks right through our workspace on his way wherever and starts showing off to his girls, bitching us out for having a generator, which we were only using to operate the tools to tear down our LNT-camp-approved public viewing platform.
c) There was a hippie burn-out in the 9 o'clock plaza in 2010 whom the police removed after he started harassing our girls for root beer. He had nothing but a cup, and he'd come into our camp nine, maybe ten times an afternoon each day to get his free root beer, and then on Saturday he started sounding like Charles Manson when the girls didn't top his cup all the way off, or when we said we weren't making any more root beer that afternoon. (Because we'd given out everything we had for the day, so fast we couldn't chill it quickly enough.) At no point did we ever deny him service; it just wasn't to his liking.
It's really not an individual person--like, I'm not going to look at a person in a tie-dyed shirt and VW and think poorly of them, and, my wife and I love trance music--but a pattern of behavior "frat boy," "sparkle pony," "swinger" that you see over time. And the thing is not to devalue people based on generalizations, or not to be one, but to find out what pisses so many people off about them and try not to do that.

Re: whats with the hippie/raver hate
I'm a raver and proud to be one. That doesn't mean I condone how the stereotypical raver acts but then again, I don't condone how some hippies or frat boys or even burners act.
I'm a raver because I love the music. I love to dance. I love the freedom of expression.
This may come as a surprise to some but a lot of what real ravers believe in come very close to the ten principles. (caveat: yes ravers moop like crazy and that part pisses me off) As a matter of fact, the entire concept of PLUR is what helped draw me to raving in the first place...call it corporate zombie culture shock. Inclusion, Gifting, Self-Reliance, Self Expression, Civic Responsibility, Immediacy and Participation these are all things that all of my close raver friends believe in and practice AT RAVES. (obviously, we're not candy kids but even that sub-group has its values). So what a wonderful surprise to find that there is this burner community that has so eloquently espoused those principles and more into its own subculture. What a sadness to find that not everyone in the burner community is as tolerant or accepting as one would hope.
As a burner/raver/fucking human being, I participate, I contribute, I party, I de-moop, I share and all that I ask is not to be labeled until you get to know me.
And for the record, I fucking HATE dubstep.
