..tiers? What?
..tiers? What?
So, I have no idea what the hell is going on. I've never been to Burning Man, but planned on going in 2012.
I don't understand this "tier" system at all. What's the difference between them? Does one set of tickets offer something better (or worse) than the next?
Is a ticket good for the entire duration of Burning Man or is that the purpose of the "tier" bit? Like, one tier will keep you in for X days, and another, X, etc etc.
I'm completely in the dark with this. The FAQ doesn't really explain. I'm quite a Burning Man00bian.
Thanks in advance

Hello, and welcome to ePlaya. All the tickets offer the same general admission access to the event starting from when the gates open at the start and through the end of the event.
Different pricing tiers allowed for a way to allow lower cost tickets to the event (below the cost of putting on the event), which offered an opportunity for those on a tighter budget to be able attend (as well as what amounted to an early buyer discount to many).

Re: ..tiers? What?
The tiers mean absolutely mean nothing except for the price you pay to get in the Gate (the only VIP sections on the playa are the ones you bring yourselves).
In the oldy days it was to get early income to the LLC in the slow season so they could work on the event, now it's a hold over. Lots of people don't understand why we still have them, these are the same people who would raise holy-hell if they were eliminated.
Figure out the highest price you can afford, enter the drawings at that price; you will automatically be entered for any lower priced tiers as well.

Nope, I'd love to see them eliminated. There are valid reasons to be critical of the tiered system, and the ticketing system in general.Eric wrote: Lots of people don't understand why we still have them, these are the same people who would raise holy-hell if they were eliminated.

Quit messing with this guy!
1st tier = front row seats.
2nd tier = floor seats.
3rd tier = balcony.
Don't let anyone tell you different.

The first tier ticket holders need to sit down during the big burns. It's getting out of hand.JStep wrote:Quit messing with this guy!

And the second tier assholes need to get there earlier if they think they deserve a better view.

Wait... are we still talking about tickets? I'm confused.

I know my complimentary gift Zippo and gallon of white gas really came in handy for that and a hundred other things that week!
