David Best planning a Temple for 2012?

Heard a rumor that David Best is hoping and scheming to build next years Temple!?!?!?!?

Anyone know anything about this?

David Best has drawn plans and will apply to build the Temple for 2012.

Original temple builder David Best will submit a proposal for the temple at Burning Man for the first time in several years. A large-format print of his proposed temple embellished by hand painted details is inside this sealed tube, along with several surprise gifts. The tube, which you may take home tonight, is to stay sealed until Burning Man's 2012 temple is officially selected.

International Arts Megacrew, builders of the 2011 Temple, has been asked to collaborate and to help build the structural components here in Reno. The Temple is not officially selected until March sometime.

That's awesome. Best is what Best does and he does it the best. The temple when I was there, even tho it wasn't one of his, was a very powerful force that taught me things about empathy, recovering from loss, compassion, and so much more. The temple was actually my impetus for going all the way out there, alone, to deal with "stuff". Burning Man was a side benefit of that journey, but a great compliment to my temple experiences. Burning man would have far less meaning for me without the paradox of the temple to balance it. Ok, now I really wanna go home again...

I ran into him pre-opening on the Temple of Transistion site. He seemed moved by what had been built, and inspired. He told me that he had applied to build the 2012 temple, and we talked about how working out of Reno had really helped the logistics, cost and planning, and how there were so many skilled builders in Reno looking for something meaningful to do.

I am pleased to announce that the Temple design and build team has been selected for 2012. The designer is David Best and the Temple is designated as the Temple of Juno, and there is a strong indication that our friends from IAM (the International Arts Megacrew, builders of Megatropolis and the Temple of Transition) will be making up a large amount of the Temple crew. I will have more finalized information in the next few weeks, but for the first time since 2007 we will be having a David Best Temple!

Hold on to your hats, folks, this year is going to be yet another amazing experience for us.

Further information received is that IAM will not be involved in the build, and temple crew affiliated with David Best out of Petaluma, CA, will be the builders.
