no one's ever alone at eplaya...Joel has left enough Sapphire and Bill Buckley articles to last at least 3 months....then look in the archives for Isotopia's posts for engaging frivolity, or Rob the Wop's batch of off-color off-the map stuff, or Lydia's stuff for titilating whatevers.... then there's my webcam...ha ha ha ha ha

They kind of look English to me. They've got that I-like-to-shag-sheeps kind of air about them.

Sunday morning... nobody here on the ePlaya... think I'll wander around for a bit, before I fix my daughter-in-law's bicycle (maybe fix her cat while I'm at it...), mow the lawn, throw dog turds at my neighbor's dog, and head for a barbeque (...must remeber to wash hands....)

So... what's everyone else doing?

Nothin'...

Hmmmmm.... maybe I'll head over the the "Experience" board... he's was trying to hang around that "Sexy Jewish Backpacker" thread... worth a shot... Oh, yeah... and the "Barbie Death Camp" thread... or doing some troll baiting...

... I wonder where everyone else is. Probably having a real life and not chasing their dick around on a virtual landscape. Shit....

Zoo works... but, as you can see, life ain't easy for a boy named Tzu. And I didn't see you because I was looking the wrong direction... sorry. And how ya' been, by the way? What's shaking these days... and how's my buddy Sensei doing... and the lovely Lydia?

And I really would like to find BRR. My knuckles need some toughening up.

hey darlin!
BTW, woodrow is on the singles thread.
i had to change avatars because of him.
he doesn't do chickens, does he? probably.

things are good, kinda mellow...
spending good time hanging about with the local Arab community, playing my viola quite a bit, doing some writing and soul searching and psychological preparation for the future. i guess everything has been really intense lately, so i'm responding by playing it low key... you know how when you're in transition all your emotions are magnified?

yeah.

i'm trying to decide if i want to fast for Ramadan.... really it would be silly because there's no good point to doing it besides the self discipline, as i'm not Muslim. i have trouble mostly with the no water during daylight part of it. but it might be 'good' for me just to do that for the month as a way of focusing. it either starts today, tomorrow, or saturday. (it's based on the moon, so it's hard to tell. and sunnis and shiahs disagree on when to begin it. and you couldn't see the moon last night anyway. there are scholars who figure it out - and disagree - and somehow it seems that all of a sudden everyone decides to start or stop the whole thing. it's confusing!)

there's not a whole lot to tell, you know? just smoothing some edges rather quietly, rounding out some surfaces, and sharpening my claws.

you?

oh, and Sensei and Lydia seem well... i've been taking it a little easy from burner parties and the bar, so i haven't seen them much (though more than most people on these boards!!!) shifted the work schedule earlier, so i'm a sleepy girl this week.

Well, the discipline of Ramadan is good for everyone. Discipline for everyone is good. It shows you your weak spots. Anytime you schedule yourself not to do something, you find out how much of a slave to that thing you are. Point in case: me and coffee. I'm okay now... but... And as far as no water all day long? Dunno'... Seattle might not be so bad, but I couldn't see doing that in Saudi Arabia... however, they not only do it there every Ramadan, but Ramadan itself started there.

There is a very devout, and very beautiful (his soul) Muslim two cubicles over. He told me about the "when the moon is sighted" thingy, which means in the Pacific Northwest, Ramadan would have to start around July of next year.... Otherwise, he said, tomorrow.

I'm fine... working my ass down to the bone (which, judging by the size of my ass, I still have a ways to go) and enjoying life. No new friends, but I haven't lost any old ones, either.

I miss you... hope to get up there and see you, Sensei, Lydia, the Captain, etc., one of these weekends. I'll be going to the Portland decompression ... how about you?

I guess I should have PM'd this... but, hey! No one else was using this thread anyway...

Zoo, your ass is not particularly large. you forget that i've seen you and happen to know you're in good shape.
however, should it disappear i would worry.

yeah, what's the scoop on PDX Decmp? I want to go, to network, to see you all. there's a lot happening that weekend, though, and then there's cost and prep and i haven't begun. what all's involved?

i want to have coffee with you again. i have a bunch of new poetry. i still want yours printed out in large quantities to take home with me. i want to go back to that park, you know, the one.

i worked like mad last week... you know, when i disappeared from here... what with moving the office and setting up. i think i am still paying for it. but it will help with bills and, perhaps, saving for travel. insha'allah.

tell your coworker hello.... kareme ramadan.

i will have to tell you sometime about the children's festivals my friends at the Jerusalem community center throw on thursdays in Ramadan.

i think my favorite thing about Ramadan is the evening meal... the anticipation involved, the way everyone comes together, the celebration of a meal together. the visiting - huge meals cause families go together to each others' houses.

my least favorite is doing hard physical labour at midday with no water.

i'll probably end up more and more at the local arab hangouts here, just to share the breakfast with someone.

you know you can extend Ramadan after the Eid festival for another several days. you only do it if you're really serious... i have a friend who's made the hajj who does this (you'd adore this guy.. heart of fucking gold) Last night Haida, an acquaintance, was crabby. he began his fast a day or two early....

ah, devotion....
