Yes, it is important to clarify that when I mean self, I mean the observing self and not the egoistic self. And applies to oneness that is both the unmanifested and manifested (ayakta and yakta). Vedas, Gita and other Hindu teaching are fundamentally so different and at a different plane from what most Hindus practice.
