NessaZee, say Merry Christmas to your in-laws and out-laws up there! I hauled a lot of lumber out of Alberta in my early truck driving days.

Calgary. Sounds chilly. (says the chick in Quebec whose "it's freaking freezing out" light just went off for the first time in 24hrs.)

Oh. and Monsieur Elliot?

That screen wipe is all the more appropriate since the picture is titled "Hollywood Seance".

I'm visualizing a sort'a traffic signal by your front door, telling you when to stay the heck inside.

But I do not understand the Hollywood reference. Of course, I live a good 500 US Miles from Hollywood, CA. Or do you mean "obviously fake" seance, complete with electrical sparks from the Special Effects Department?

Now look what youse guys have done.... Dragged me into your thread drift! But dang, who knew a Hollywood Fart could be so much fun. :P

Think: Once she let her rip, that pretty much wiped out that big-screen scene!

Edited so it might make some sense.

Actually, it's just a little light on the wall saying it's colder than heck and the bi-energy system has switched to "cold mode". Cold mode means that the heating is then no longer electric, but oil, and our (otherwise much preferential electrical cost has tripled for the duration of the switchover). This means no laundry, baking, dishwasher, long showers, etc until the light goes out. We tend to really pay attention to hourly temperature predictions during the winter here.

A seance that might make some sense, small screen versus big screen, properties featuring impropriety.... I give up. "Take 2, from the top, and without the sound effects this time!"

When I was a kid, friends and I would go to the movies and watch westerns. Then we told people that we always sat in the front row so we could pick up empty six-shooter casings as souvenirs. The problem with that of course, is that the wild-west guys never seemed to reload!

Down here, some homes have similar restrictions on electrical usage -- for cooling during hot summer afternoons. :P

All right with the thread drift, already.... Isn't anyone standing on a skyscraper window ledge today? No? Well then, thread drift is of course far preferable! :D

I did have to scrape my window with a sharp edge while cursing the sky earlier. Does that count???

You run with scissors too, I bet.

That's ridiculous, Poe was never in Hollywood.

The seance picture must be a composite. Check out the picture of Poe on his Wikipedia site. Same picture.

Oh, I recognized it. I just wonder who everyone else is. Also, Poe died way before photos were that advanced.

How about a "fun" post in the suicide thread? Here is a great book on Amazon that some of you might find enjoyable.

I was about to read the Suicidal Tendencies thread from the beginning but I noticed the first page is gone. What happened to it I wonder...
Sometimes I'm confused by what I think is really obvious. But what I think is really obvious obviously isn't obvious.

It looks like just your main post is gone. Not sure what happend to that, but ygmir's post has yours in it.
Well doesn't that just set your panties on fire!

edit to add; setting your panties on fire was just a figure of speech. DO NOT actually set your panties on fire, as that would be dangerous, and would go against everything that this thread stands for. Thank you.

This board apparently has some significant bugs. A while back, the first post of the School Bus 101 thread vanished, and I had to re-construct it.
