Anyone from the Mid West going to BM 2012?

Yep early but planning.
My self and one or two other people want to attend BM in 12. This will all be our first year. We are located in Iowa. Just wondering if anyone around here is going to go in 12 and would have room? I will also be offering up a geodesic dome to use and pitch in for gas.

Planners prep the best! Mind you: some flexibility is good too, because something is always bound to go a little sideways.

Make some regional contacts by going to the main Burning Man website, clicking on "Regionals" in small print near the top, and then clicking on the map 'til you narrow in on your state and ones next to it. Join their mailing lists--and get news of their Decompression parties. It's a great way to meet local Burners and network/rideshare.

me and my husband are from NE and just decided to go. we might have room depending on if any of our friends actually decide to go.
we have a minivan. a family van. oh im already ridiculously excited!

I'll be going next year as well - leaving from Saint Louis. I'll be pulling a trailer, driving a 4 door pickup truck, and will have the entire truckbed empty. I'm a resident of a theme camp and although I cannot grant you access to our space, I have references for being safe/sane to ride with. I have every intention of making the trip solito - but would consider 2 passengers in exchange for distributing fuel cost in thirds. Post here if you are interested or PM me. I won't come up to get you or drop you off - so I may not be ideal for you.

Hey Tattoogoddess, me & a bud are heading down from Wisconsin next year. We just bought a school bus that we are converting to a camper so we are committed. Like others have said, check out your regional & get involved with them. 2012 will be my first time too & hooking up with experienced Burners is indispensable. They will be your best source for preparing for the journey. I am fortunate to have met a lot of creative & interesting people that have all been there & know what to do(and more importantly what not). I plan on attending as many of their meetings & getting involved as much as I can. I hope you have good folks near you that you can get involved with.

Assuming I get one of the tickets in the lottery I plan on attending. I am in Lincoln, Nebraska. Willing to car pool if all goes as planed, I plan on taking a 2002 ford explorer 4-5 people and we would have plenty of room for stuff, and has towing capability

My fiance & I are going in 2012 for our honeymoon. We are from Sioux City, Iowa. So far we plan on travelling alone but are open to carpooling/convoying if the right situation presents itself. We have a Jeep Grand Cherokee we plan on taking but if we find a good truck we can put our camper on we might do that instead. Feel free to message me if you want to talk more about travel plans.
