I could see Aunt Peg being bad ass and looking sexy on the roller derby floor, but Mae West would completely kick ass. I would like to see Aunt Peg on the floor kicking ass on the roller derby though. If I was making a movie back then, I'd fit that synopsis in the movie somehow.

Boudica (English queen who took on the roman empire) or Medb (supremely badass ancient Irish warrior queen) would definitely be contenders, Ninkasi trumps them all for being responsible for beer, but I think Inanna rocks it the most. Aside from simply being one of the old school Sumerian goddesses that walked the Earth, she's credited with getting Enki (who was in charge at the time) to give up the secrets of civilization (which she did by way of what amounts to a bar bet and drinking him under the table). She also destroyed a mountain because it pissed her off (she was angered by its lack of respect and natural beauty).

My Aunt Kay, WWII nurse, lost her doctor husband in WWII, remarried, had a bunch more kids (7? 8? I forget), was a social worker for families with "troubled youths", then became an advocate for children in the court system after she retired. Her funeral was standing room only, spilling out into the vestibule, then out the front door.

My mom is the most independent woman I will ever know! She has done some badass stuff now that I think about it.
