Petrie was a bit of a nut.. Or crazy like a fox. He did the survey in a Tu Tu..
He was allowed the survey cuse he was looked at as a nut job..

As far as I've seen: many people are observing Tutu Tuesday at Burning Man every year these days, regardless of whether it is formally announced.

And tutus end up being like Christmas decorations . . . flaunted both in advance and lingering on.

Surprisingly (at least to me...) I have never worn a tutu...I have worn a sequined shoulder padded evening gown and feathered turban...but that's another thread...

I would probably do the same if I ever finally tried a pair of pointe shoes. Which is silly, because I could buy myself a pair right now--why not? But when you always want something, and then it just doesn't seem practical anymore, it probably catches you unawares when you finally get it . . .

(The Black Rock City Ballet was giving away pointe shoes one year [which is amazing and sweet, because I can't be the only child-@-heart still kinda interested in them] but I didn't read the What/When/Where guide early enough in the week.)

Giving this a nudge over to the Art & Performance board, since I think that's a better fit than tickets.

The wearing white thing comes from a couple individual events, shykat… On Wednesday night, Opulent Temple (one of the big sound camps) has their annual 'sacred dance' event. While anyone and everyone's welcome, they ask that people dress in white. They've also got performers clad in white doing special dances/performances as well, it's kind of a big thing for them (think of it as a big throw-down for family and the full-week crowd). Then on Thursday morning (or at least, it used to be on Thursday mornings), there's a somber affair called The White Procession. They dress in white (some in elaborate costumes and makeup) and meet at center camp in the pre-dawn hours on Thursday, then slowly and silently begin marching first to the man and then onwards to the temple, timing it so they arrive at the temple just as the sun comes over the mountain.

TuTu Tuesday was the best! It was the first time I ever wore a Tutu and I will wear one every year on tueaday now. It was a fantastic conversation piece

haha yes don't weld naked, thats even worse than cooking bacon naked. I got some nasty slag on my arm last year, I think of it as a brand from the trojan horse, but I got it back in the end (with an arrow!)
