hear the one about the 4 birgins who walked into the playa?

Post by kozmob » Sat Jan 07, 2012 2:27 pm

greetings all wise burners. We are 4 birgins and a nearbirgin who can't wait to see what this is all about. We are boys (actually, just one boy, me) and gals from 21 to 61; all going with slightly different intentions. We live in W Wa and will try to meet up with groups in Seattle area. I spend my time making sculptures and photos and want to dive into this thing in the playa; spend time, get into the gears, and see what I can fuck up. I'm here to make and be thrilled. Got my goggles but I'm not nearly ready; gotta a lot of catchup to do. Reading these forums and survival blogs is helping a lot. Ticket registration tomorrow; I'll be in line. See y'all.

Hey there, welcome to eplaya!

When I was a kid I used to pray every night for a new bicycle.
Then I realized that the Lord doesn't work that way so I stole one and asked Him to forgive me

Hah.
Welcome fellow kommrad.
fishy is right, Seattle area Burners are many in number. things to google include but are not limited to - Ignition NW, Seacompression, Seattle Lost and Foundry, and tuesday potluck.
On eplaya there is a thread somewhere (my phones browser cant use the search function) titled " driving from the Pacific NW" it is very helpfull and you can get to recognise eplayans from B.C. To PDX.
Good luck and see you in the dust.

Hey, kozmob, welcome. You'll probably come down the 5 to Eugene, across the mountain to the 97, through K Falls, to OR39, CA139 to Alturas, over lovely Cedar Pass, to, one of my favorites, Cedarville. Self service 24 hour gas and the town is open all night, at least it is on Sun/Mon. Nice playa there. And hot springs at Surprise Valley, a good place to decompress after your Burn. You're almost home. The migration south of strange looking and oddly packed vehicles is legend on this route, as is the return of those same, now very dusty vehicles. Leave a day early and stop at Eagle's Nest Campground, just before Alturas, a great place to spend a night with other Burners, just for us (ask wedeliver on this forum) and caravan down to be there at dawn Monday morning. I'm on that route, and can hardly wait to fall in line, again.

I start my Burn when I leave the driveway. Meet us, join us, look for me... we'll start something on Sat night...

And there's nothing like a dawn, in line, over the playa. Sorta' starts the week...

This is all making me terrrribly homesick... I did it to myself.

Remember, only 239 days till the Man burns...
