Greetings, beautiful burners! I can't wait to see how the lottery shakes out in a couple weeks. Let's hope the ticket gods are smiling on me! So, has anyone here checked out Anybeat.com? It's such an awesomely inclusive social network, and a real thriving community, just like our beloved playa, only online. Is anyone else on here over there? If so, what's your screen name? If you're not there yet, why not? It's not like Facebook, or Twitter, or Myspace, or Google+, or any of the others. This place is different, created by burners (the whole team at Anybeat are burners actually), and it is a wonderful space to interact in and connect with like-minded people. There are tons of burners using Anybeat, but so many other wonderful people to meet too! There are public square discussions on practically every subject imaginable, and like at Burning Man, everyone's individuality and their right to do whatever is their thing is respected and even celebrated by the community. You can also search for new people based on common interests like Burning Man, music, knitting, or whatever you're into and connect with awesome people that way. Whereas the other social sites are based on you interacting with the people you already know, at Anybeat you do that but you're also invited to meet new people and interact with the larger community. Oh, and pseudonymous are encouraged, so you can use your playa name or whatever! Anonymity is very liberating, and because of that distinction, Anybeat has this sense of freedom and you have the ability to be your true self, because you are able to mask your interactions with an online persona. It's great for those of us who don't necessarily want everyone in the "real world" to know all of our business, like our employers or more conservative friends and family members. I absolutely love Anybeat, and want more burners to come join our community. You'll immediately be welcome and have friends, just like at home in BRC, but now we can have those beautiful interactions online. Come and check it out, and please invite others! It's such an awesome vibe, and everyone there feels and spreads mad love. We want you to be part of the Anybeat family--I hope to see you there! When you get there you can follow me and you'll have at least one friend right away--I'm creeping_jenny. Here's an invite code to use: http://www.anybeat.com/i/4e80cf8f03605d2074001733.
Shine on, beautiful nuggets!

Sounds a lot like facebook after you adjust your security settings.
Meh.
Meh.

Re: Anyone here on Anybeat?
Their terms and conditions had a somewhat Facebooky feel. When you agree to them, you grant them the right to use your content, worldwide, forever (even after you quit the site). You also grant anyone who is able to access your content the right to re-use it, worldwide, forever. There's also a fair bit of language in there about premium/pay services. The site doesn't have 'em now, so I assume that they're coming. Between that and the shifty 'cred' system (nebulous user point system, you get points for stuff like successful invite-spamming), the place feels a bit ooky to me so far.
