I would like to announce that Doc Pyro has cordially invited myself, husband and hopefully sister-in-law to attend the BDV this year!

We will most certainly be attending...unless of course something comes up with my daughter or we somehow don't have tickets. But let's pretend there's no chance of that happening!

I'm definitely excited to meet all of you and even though we'll be Birgins I promise...no sparkle ponies (Oh, i'm so proud of myself for learning some of the lingo already, bahaha)

ah well, it's not "my" camp.......I'm only an "honorary" Barbiebarian.......but do love those folks, and think they do a great job of helping Burngins. Sometimes, Doc will lead private tours, of the infrastructure, it's uses and care. Even agreeing (though rarely) to show people the "control central" of BDC: the back of the RV.
it's where all big thinking takes place.

We do have our Village Pancake Pork-out Saturday morning, when this year we fed something like 150 Barbiebarians and their friends. Mimosas, bacon, Bloody Marys, bacon, pancakes, bacon, sausage, and oh, did I mention bacon? That's a pretty big deal. I know Graidawg was talking about some kind of bacon-cookoff; that is European bacon which sucks vs. good old 'Merican bacon. I think Mel might have said something about Australian bacon, but I could be mistaken. So why not have our chili cookoff (which will be held again Monday evening) and couple that with the bacon cookoff? Or would a Tuesday morning breakfast bacon contest be more appropriate? Our Village being a do-versity after all, I leave it in your ladies' capable hands.

That much bacon sounds like heaven!! If a virgin burner brings several more pounds of bacon and helps out where he is told with a smile on his face would he be able to possibly join the bacon party? You all are so much fun to read. I can only imagine what happens when you all get together.

If you were to bring several more pounds of bacon, I don't think wild horses could keep you away! Do the Carolinas have a region-specific type of bacon there by chance? I doubt it, but if so, you should include that. So sure, keep tabs on when this bacon cookoff will be and join the party. We are a pretty inclusive bunch by and large. I actually tend to think that there would be such. After all, isn't bacon more associated with the south than any other region other region of the country. I'd think that there would be more rural/regional variation there than in say, northern california...
