Hey yall!

My husband, a few friends and I are going to be making our first trip to the playa this year. We're super excited and I can't wait! Already planning the details :)

We didn't originally think we were going to be joining a theme camp, but it just so happens we found out about Area 51. There are several reasons we are leaning towards this camp. I've read through these boards and have seen the pros/cons to joining camps, I'm just really interested to hear if anyone knows about this one in particular.

Ditto. Isn't it a government/army type installation with fences all around? Don't rumors of odd things florish when no one can go there and attest to the truth that nothing's happening?

2011 Theme Camp Listing

Area 51
Just drop in and prepare to be abducted! Our beautifully zen chill space, massage tables, frozen healthy smoothies, laser light shows, live music, and parties are out of this world! Not to mention DR. MEGAVOLT’S Tesla coil, which will be featured in our camp! We’ll be collaborating with the camps Feed the Artists and the Art of Such N Such, so don’t forget to visit our neighbors as well!

Haha, I guess I should have emphasized I was asking about the theme camp put on by Area 51 in Atlanta... not the OTHER Area 51!

By the way we went to the alex gray party yall had in October and it was phenomenal. One of the reasons we started looking into your camp.

Because it's cold and wet and miserable on the playa right now, and it's Nevada fire season, so we couldn't burn.

You're mistaken, I have no camp affiliation, I'm a borderline misanthrope,I go for the art and barely tolerate most (but not all) people. Although Area 51 sounds okay if one is a joiner-type person, I just know how, and I'm not afraid, to use the internet.

hahaha, I thought you meant the base in Nevada as well till I read more. If you do go to Area 51, it is a blast, huge elevation changes, you'll go from snow 2 feet of snow to dry within minutes.

I've never camped with them on the Playa, but I know most of the A51 crew from regionals on the South East of the US, and they are a solid bunch.
