2012 Playa Events Registration - when ?

Anyone know when we can start registering our theme camp events online? It doesn't actually tell you when that date is yet -

I believe that is not correct. In fact, if I recall correctly from the last 2 years, the online event registration for inclusion in the print book closes well before one knows if their theme camp has even been placed.

Either way, it looks like you've still got a good 4 months before you need to worry about it.

Holy Shitsnacks! I checked out the 2011 events. There are so many things going on, and that's just Monday. How do you even begin to sort through them and choose?

Here's how I do it.

1) Open the What/When/Where Guide given to you by the crowd @ Greeters, your 2nd stop. (Not to be confused with The Gate--your 1st stop, where your ticket is torn, and your car is briefly searched).

2) Note that Events are divided by day and by whether they are One Time or Repeating. Look at One-Time Events first for each day, 'cause you might have a chance to hit the Repeating events later.

3) Go nuts circling things with a fine tip sharpie or pencil. (Ballpoint pens get dust inside them & can be frustrating). I like a 1/2 circle for Maybes, full circle for Must-Do.

4) Ultimately attend 1 or 2 planned Events all week, tops, 'cause the camp is either hard to locate, or I get distracted by amazing things along the way.

It is impossible to see everything or adhere to most plans out there.

You don't. You get the guide from the greeters and you find your camping spot and unload and set yourself up, losing the guide in the process. You then spend your week going to events or art pieces or camps based on rumor and chance and on vague memories of where people you want to meet might be camped and are so overwhelmed that you can't cope with the tiny fraction of what you can see or do. Several months after the event, you finally open some bin and there's the guide, with the map and the sticker and you sorta go: Wow. Here's the guide and the map and the sticker, imagine that.
