Burning Question :)

Postby kayalovelife » Wed Jan 25, 2012 4:46 am

Hey there, TriloByte, mods, and whomever else. I've got a question about when the drawing begins... It's killing me right now because the 7 people I'm getting an RV with can't buckle down and GET the RV until we have tickets. And how much we can spend is based on how much our tickets end up costing. AND the RV's are selling out as I type, and if we wait until later, the cost triples.

So, my question is this: Does the box office have normal hours? As in it won't start today until 9am, so there is no point in checking...and it won't continue after 6pm, so I can stop again then too? I think this might relax a few people. It's not knowing WHEN we can know, or having any sort of inkling-making it possible for it to be at any moment, which doesn't seem realistic...
...also, damn me for being on East Coast time. I have three hours of extra impatience :)

Thank you! Kaya

Nobody really knows when it'll be. The database is electronic so it isn't like they're restricted to poring over the list at an office. Just conjecture, but I would expect the drawing to occur some time around noon so that if there are problems they can have the staff there and because they seem to schedule things around that time (mornings suck!).

One piece of advice for you Kaya, what our group did is we secured an RV by offering to send a deposit to the private renter we're getting ours from. We sent him a check for a hundred bucks last week, if we don't get tickets (I have a good feeling that most people will not have a problem with this during the main sale), we'll be out that money but it was worth it to secure. I know it's not the total ideal and might not work for everyone, but just thought I'd share.

Good luck!

Not that it means anything, but I believe emails started going out around 1:15 pm PST in the presale. I'm on the east coast, and mine was received 4:27pm.

Spoiler - it won't be starting today.

The ticketing team works longer and (this time of year) stranger hours than that. There isn't any specific time of day it'll start (though my guess would be that it wouldn't start in the late evening).

Thank you!!! I can put the fever on rest at least until tomorrow. And we're just going to rent the RV! Woohoo! Thanks again.

I would guess that if you book the rv now and cancel in a month, you're not out much, if anything.

No worries! We chose a rather random company...the only affordable one we could find! But we're biting the bullet and it should all be settled by tomorrow! I am so excited :)
