Do, dare, and be silent.

Post by NessaZee » Wed Jan 25, 2012 5:16 pm

I just came across this article from 2007. USA/Canada border crossings can go bad, but didn't realize that something like this could happen! ...A Vancouver psychotherapist is no longer allowed to visit the homes of his children in the states (without the lengthy process of applying for a waiver) because he published a paper concerning his use of LSD...30 years ago!

an excerpt from the article:
Andrew Feldmar wrote:"...the experience of being treated as undesirable was shocking. The helplessness, the utter uselessness of trying to be seen as I know myself and as I am known generally by those I care about and who care about me, the reduction of me to an undesirable offender, was truly frightening. I became aware of the fragility of my identity, the brittleness of a way of life. Memories of having been the object of the objectifying gaze crowd into my mind. I have been seen and labeled as a Jew, as a Communist, as a D. P. (Displaced Person), as a student, as a patient, a man, a Hungarian, a refugee, an émigré, an immigrant.... Now I am being seen as one of those drug users, perhaps an addict, perhaps a dealer, one can't be sure. In the matter of a second, I became powerless, whatever I said wasn't going to be taken seriously. I was labeled, sorted and disposed of. Dismissed."

Wow. Stunning. I'd never be allowed back in if they knew all the stuff I'd done before I got sober 24 years ago.

lol oneeyedick. They've been trying to toss me out of Texas for years. First by continually electing yahoos like Perry as governer, and by bombarding me with cedar pollen.

"he had not considered posting on the Internet the risk that it turned out to be."

The common use of unverifiable information is quite alarming.

Didn't the Nixon administration write the drug rules to keep political activists out of the country?

Bush was often caught abusing "terrorism" rules to keep usa citizen activists from flying, without cause.
