I love the can crusher!

Post by Angry Butterfly » Tue Sep 07, 2004 9:11 pm

Ok, so I'm biased, but I'm facinated by it, every time it would run I would go out to watch the musical squishing of the cans. I'm also sorry to every one I was grumpy to, it was for your own safety, please dont ever watch someone welding while you are wearing nothing or a flamable lavender nighty. You really can go blind or get burned, pleas, I know it's pretty but stay away! Do you see my helmet and long sleves? belive me I would LIKE to weld naked, but its not going to happen. I hope that the art cars I fixed held together, but I was stroking out and anemic by the end of the week and could barely hold up my hand let alone a torch, I'm sorry I could not help you all.
Thanks to all the random voulenteers and those who broght cans by early, if we had not run out of bags I feel we would have brought in 200,000 cans. If you want your cans accepted next year, keep them in a mesh laundry bag or burlap to gaurentee acceptance. I am sorry but we only take aluminum cans. Recycle camp was fun as hell but I may take a year off next year so I can spend the week looking pretty and not getting splattered by day old skunky beer. It was all worth it, though. I love you like brothers recycle camp. I also love you, Unifried.
I took the road less traveled, and now I would like to go back and find the paved one.

The previous version of the can crusher was extremely cool, but the latest incarnation is the ultimate in playa engineering. Very impressive stuff! Collecting 4 bags of cans and getting to ride the bike while they were crushed was a highlight of my burn.

I think I might be able to help with the welding naked part next year. I just got stick and mig units in my truck. With any luck I'll have tig set up as well, and maybe even a plasma cutter. I don't know if you tig at all, but I think you could do it naked since there's no splatter and such. It would give you a great tan anyway!

I do tig, but not naked, I got a bad burn once from forgetting to button up my tig jacket all the way.

Bah.. most burns aren't from slag flying off and hitting you, it's from clothes burning or slag getting caught between clothes and skin. If there were no clothes there most of it would just bounce off.

Be free! Weld naked! Shave off excess body hair for extra safety. Boots are ok, I suppose.

I welded for the first time this year, and it most definately was the UV. Bad burn. No nude welding for me, ever.
