Hello from Afghanistan
Hey everyone, I was advised to post an introduction thread so here it is. I am currently and active duty marine actually deployed in Afghanistan for a little less than 2 more months. The 2012 burning man is hopefully going to be my means of celebrating leaving the military and starting a new life (hows that for fertility 2.0 eh? ) The only reason, well main reason that I did the military shin-dig was for my college goals. I am an artist to the core and want it to be how I make a living or at minimum a substantial part of my life. Ultimately I found interest in 3d animation and studied it for the past couple years and now want to dive into an art school to hone those skills further. Digital artwork isn't my sole interest though, I have been working on the traditional side as well.

Hey there, welcome to eplaya!

When I was a kid I used to pray every night for a new bicycle.
Then I realized that the Lord doesn't work that way so I stole one and asked Him to forgive me

Hi Andrewty07! One of my favorite Burners is a Marine who celebrated his tour's end with the 2008 Burn.
Got off one plane and pretty much right on to another. Military folks have some of the best attitudes out there, I gotta say. That you're an artist too makes it that much more exciting.

Welcome to Eplaya! Hope to see you in the dust on this side of the world!

Welcome to the Burningman community! When you get back to the USA, you might look up your regional group - they are listed on the burningman.com website. Usually there will be house parties and fundraiser events near you. Best to you and your team! I'm sure you will bring back many, many creative ideas.
