Moop Control? Any ideas?
I was thinking about gifting hair... doing braids and hair cuts. How would I control the Moop of hair? Any ideas?

Hmm... maybe, instead of cutting hair, you could offer to do braids with bits of colorful yarn woven in? Maybe add chunky beads if you're sure you can wrap the hair tight enough that the wrap will last all week. No feathers, of course.

There was a huge camp once who had a wheel of barbering, whatever you spun was the cut you got. Mohawks, shaved, bowl cut, mullet, and many more. Much MOOP, but I'm assuming they had a good plan.
I can ask MyLarry about bringing his 12V mini shovac from the truck. He might not want it on the playa though. But yeah, styling and embellishing may be more fun than actual cutting.

Re: Moop Control? Any ideas?
I thought about doing that. Just sticking with braids. But a few of my burner friends said I should gift my cutting talents. Idk. It would be fun but a shit ton of moop! Im already offering to do body paint. So maybe braids and paint is enough? Idk would people actually want hair cuts at bm? It's hot and all. Pretty sure that was 2002. I think it was the first time I heard the term "mullet".AntiM wrote:There was a huge camp once who had a wheel of barbering, whatever you spun was the cut you got. Mohawks, shaved, bowl cut, mullet, and many more. Much MOOP, but I'm assuming they had a good plan.

As far as I know, yes.
If hauling the cutting implements works for you, then do it, and if an opportunity arises for a cut, then do it (over a tarp, out of the wind). However, if these are the tools you make a living with, I wouldn't suggest getting them anywhere near the playa. Crap happens out there, in unimaginable ways.

Re: Moop Control? Any ideas?
There was a camp doing that on the 9:00 plaza last year and yes, whatever you spun is the cut you got. My son and I went, but there was a huge line so we didn't stick around for a cut.tattoogoddess wrote:AntiM wrote:There was a huge camp once who had a wheel of barbering, whatever you spun was the cut you got. Savannah: I don't know what it is, but no thread here escapes alive. You'll get 1 or 2 real answers at minimum, occasionally 10 or 12, and then we flog it until it's unrecognizable and you can't get your deposit back.

Someone in my camp in '97 was shaving balls, crotches and whatnot. Style wheel for that could be interesting.

Re: Moop Control? Any ideas?
Yep I can cut wet. That would somewhat down on the hair blowing away. This is something I have found though that may work. It looks stupid as hell but im sure most people would want to take it for a costume lol

Hum Idk it sounds like fun the whole pick a hair cut and thats what you get. Any other hair stylist on the board? Also I found this- http://www.abattoir.com/~prime8/images/ ... rcuts.html
I would not be bringing my good shears with me to the burn that is for sure!
Pyro if you are reading this. Is BDC still doing the spa this year?

Cutting hair isn't that rare on the playa.
