If the burn does sell out (Positive ideas)

Post by randomgirl7 » Wed Feb 01, 2012 12:33 pm

I know everyone is stressed -- but even before the lottery started my BF and I started to give burning man replacement ideas.. a road trip through some of the most beautiful parts of the US and Canada is our favorite so far! Some of my friends already are making plans to hit Europe too!

If everyone really can't get tickets this year we can also attempt to team up and get the large group of people to travel elsewhere! Last year plenty of small events popped up right before -- if we all teamed together we could make something awesome. Maybe even Tag Team Reno with the burner spirit. They already are used to our unusual clothes anyways ;) If we can't make burning man this year let's make it WATER MAN and go swimming. Or do a second burning man a few months later if the permits can be arranged... bring some extra love the cities that live off of our tourism that one time of year.

Kudos for thinking outside the box!
You know Burning Man isn't the most original idea on the planet. People have been gathering around fires since the beginning of prehistory.
Get some radical self-reliance and come up with something cool to do on your own!

About 30 miles south is another dry lake bed called Winnemucca. Free camping. Maybe an alt burn there......

What about Permaburn?

Orphan Burns! Just the thing.

Southern Utah is stunning, not just the National Parks, our state parks rock too. Spiral Jetty, Sun Tunnels, salt flats. Lots to see and do in Utah.

100%. While Arches and Canyonlands are jaw-dropping, Goblins State Park is like another planet and frighteningly surreal. There's toooons of awesome stuff out there.
