Research Poll: Did you win the lottery?

I understand the eplaya is only a limited scope of the community, and this shouldn't be looked at from a point of winning or losing, but I'm simply curious as to what percentage of people got a confirmation email versus the rest who got a denial email. I have gone the last 2 years and am determined to go again, no matter what.

It's probably going to be around %30 to %40 percent that got tickets. I'm the %60....heh.

Not trying to be a bubble burster - but these statistics won't work anyway. There's no way of telling what percentage of the BM community is actually on this site. And it still wouldn't be enough to come up with any realistic numbers.

Eplaya is just as random as any other Burner hangout....should work a bit, dontcha think? Im curious....It does feel in general like 60% no and 40% yes, maybe even 70/30

Shouldn't matter, sure the numbers will be lower but still a good reading. ePlaya should be a good cross section of the average BM population.

My experience based on myself plus friends I know who entered the lottery is about 33%, and the poll is running at 30% right now.

My personal experience is out of a camp of 50 only 7 people got tickets. So add that to the non-scientific pile.

Of course a camp in which everyone signed up for all tiers would have a better chance than one that only signed up for first tier. A camp that went 100% presale probably has all needed tix. That skews the analysis by camp. But the trend does seem to be 30% got tickets.

2 of the 3 virgins we know so far got one each.

The results on this survey are pretty similar to the results we are getting on the eplaya.

Some simple math shows...

30-40% of entries got tickets

1.7 tickets per entry.

40,000 tickets from 23,500 entries

Roughly 58,750-78,333 total entries

I wonder how many entries were on each tier.

Its a biased poll since the people who come to this site are more likely to either be friends who won and trying to find out why others didn't, or the people who didn't themselves.

The scalpers wouldn't bother, deflating the percentage, yes?
