Hello all, just got my ticket confirmation this morning and wanted to say hello. BM was on my bucket list and as a hugely creative person and a photographer I am ECSTATIC to be coming to the burn.
Looking forward to the burn, meeting lots of new people and the road trip to get there.
Cheers from Calgary/Vancouver Canada.

Hello from a Canadian First Timer
Excuse me, this is way different than what was described in the brochure!

Hey Waynerd!
These are relevant to your interests:
PHOTOGRAPHY AT BURNING MAN (Etiquette, Equipment, Protecting Equipment, etc)
http://www.burningman.com/press/photo_guide.html
Other Canadians, Vancouver & Calgary . . . it's good to meetup, network or compare notes:
http://regionals.burningman.com/ca_bc.html
http://regionals.burningman.com/ca_alb_cal.html
The border crossing may involve extra attention for you, as a soon-to-be Burner. Border guards will assume you are transporting veterinary codeine, radioactive materials, and exotic lizards. (And it'll be like "Sir, the lizards I have with me were the most mundane of any in PetCo. Goddamn.")

Welcome to Eplaya! Of course you will have to board the Lizards in Reno, but thankfully that doesn't cost much.
When the only tool you got is a hammer, every problem looks like a hippie.

Re: Hello from a Canadian First Timer
Thanks Savannah,
I've been reading the guidelines and rules for photography and even though I'm absolutely NOT going for any commercial purpose I will register my camera etc as I do have a travel blog and photography portfolio that some will most likely be displayed on. I love the ask first rule, what an awesome way to meet people. I've already planned on getting small cards made with my contact info because I'd love anyone I snap to contact me afterward so I can send/gift a copy of the image I took of them. I'm just thrilled to be a part of it and want to capture it, respectfully, for everyone involved.
Now if you'll excuse me I have to search out this Lizard reference people are making.

Hey there, welcome to eplaya!

When I was a kid I used to pray every night for a new bicycle.
Then I realized that the Lord doesn't work that way so I stole one and asked Him to forgive me

Very thoughtful--we see a lot of folks on eplaya seeking to connect with photographers who snapped them at a perfect moment.I've already planned on getting small cards made with my contact info because I'd love anyone I snap to contact me afterward so I can send/gift a copy of the image I took of them.
