Reminds me of 2010... Remember the rain?

I rather liked the whole thing - changed the event for me, and it was cool! Reminded me to be prepared for anything out there, that the playa always changes. Yet I heard "resiliant burners" swearing "Last %#&*#% time I EVER come out here"... just because it got a little damp.

Hey, just because I thought the lotto sucked DOESN'T mean I ain't goin'... I'll just get my tickets another way. Peh. And if it don't work out there will always be 2013. So WTF??!!

Funny, after drinking, er, sleeping on it last night, it's all fucking funny... It's just Burning man. The only thing that's guaranteed is that NOTHING is guaranteed.

rain in 2010 was awesome

i had my house flood out about 2-3 weeks before leaving for the burn... just the stuff that would FIT into huge contractor sized garbage bags ended up being 37 bags on the curb..

wake up at like 5am and my fricken tent was leaking around wehre the rainfly wasnt covered all the way..

thinkin 'holy crap here we go again!

i walked around camp.. found some tarps and shit laying around.. wiped up the water.. went back to sleep

woke up and had a kick ass breakfast..

learned about how ya gotta be prepared.. cuz shit happens..

this is the shit that is being referred to when someone says 'shit happens'

just gotta clean up the mess.. go to sleep.. wake up have a nice breakfast and figure it out.. what else can ya do?

I am loving the Fish, Yggy, Lemur, BBS and especially Piehole right now. Just cuz he's a burgin and he's burnier than a lot of people who are whining, throwing out conspiracy theories, denouncing burgins and 'spectators' for keeping them from 'their' tickets.

In 2009, after the city closed down Monday because of the dust, I heard of people packing up and leaving on Tuesday. Of course, the next three days were pretty fucking fine. And then the dust hit again.

I was working cafe in the rain in 2010, freezing my butt off, all of us trying not to break anything on the slippery mess the behind the bar flooring became. And was happy I was in the house of hot beverages. And got to see a double rainbow over the mountains because of it.

The Burn is what you make of it. And life in defaultia is what you make of it too.

Ok, back to work so I have $$ for the ticket when it comes...

You guys are just the best ever......I was getting more concerned at how broken the burners are than how broken the ticket system might be.

As with everybody else, some of my minions did'nt get tickets so we have already set up a network to help them seek and acquire.

I am one of the minority that doesn't go to the big sound/dance camps - mostly because I really prefer the funkier small random places. Although I empathize with the big theme camps having to make changes, or even cancel, maybe this change won't be all bad. Imagine a playa with more one-on-one interaction in smaller camps. Less infrastructure does not mean less interesting.

me too Mojo........I do mostly smaller camps and such.
Feel for the big ones though. It'd be nice, if every one could be happy.....lets just play the hand we're dealt.

It is going to be a interesting year in Black Rock City....

most big sound camps are under ticketed/staffed.... & not planning to come/open
most art & "big art" are under ticketed/staffed.... & not planning to come/open
most theme camps are under ticketed/staffed.... & not planning to come/open

something most people don't think about.... almost all of the infastructure is Volunteers. Most don't get a "staff" ticket.

Expect much longer waits for your coffee in center camp.... & @Gate, @Greeters, & for ICE,... by EMS,.. by Black Rock Rangers.... and .... Exodus. They needed "X" amount of people to get you out... last year.... They just got "cut" too. Enjoy your longer wait.

I see a lots of Virgins / Spectators /Tourists standing around thinking... " this BS... not what I was told,,,,, No free Bars/Drinks...where are the NAKED CHICKS... I wait 2 hours in line for coffee from someone doesn't smile, where are the dance halls & the free booze? " I won't be back here again.This SUX.

ok, with me.... maybe I need a year off, or 2.... I have learned I can burn anywhere.... [been learning... that the last 4 years]

or you can turn in your "extra tickets" to "S.T.E.P. for no loss & good Karma!

I felt kind of bad after the lottery, I have 3 people and no tickets. But then I realized: I'm making friends. I've been invited to join the coolest camp on the playa (Barbie Death Camp, FTW!), I've already had an offer to help me look for tickets. The way I see it, instead of complaining, turn to your fellow burners for help. If that all falls through, I've gotten the chance to talk to some cool cats. I'm confident that I'll get the tickets I need because I have the determination to get there and some awesome friends to get me there!

oh how i hope I am wrong.... all polls I see are less than 10% are planning on using the STEP system. so no re-shuffling of tickets.... most see no problem selling "their Tickets" for much more than face value.... they got them, you want them .... it will cost you. that is soooooo non - burner.

but savour that kool-aid taste. This ticket lottery is not working well.... the options left only hurt others. poorly planned.

They invited the guests.... took the guests money & shut out the entertainment & staff. Should be a interesting party.
